Stay was ok but even for 3* I found various factors very upsetting; #1. Stairwell main fire escape ALL doors were wedged open!! Is this legal?! #2. Entering the room my first impression as a stained seemingly worn out carpet looking disgusting!! #3. Using the toilet I found I could not close the door because the toilet IS IN THE WAY!!! *******!!! #4. The safe for my keys, money and passport was BROKEN and impossible to use - no handle, no batteries. This gave me a worried feeling throughout my stay!!! #5. THE TELEVISION DID NOT WORK - and it seems HASNT WORKED FOR WEEKS!! Outrageous and in breach of your contract. #6. A small but simple point to correct - a missing bedside lamp shade. #7. Finally just a point of service with the lady serving breakfast noisily clipclooping about in her shoes as well as being surly and noisy with serving and clearing breakfast Please find relevant photos attached! I now expect some compensation for the lack of a tv nor safe

Water at the shower clogged. Had to wait around 10mins before the next person could use it. I booked a family room, and I think have very little family room available. So, we were assigned to stay at Level 5. Somehow, the lift is only upto Level 3. We all had to carry out heavy luggages up the spiral staircase. Staff was quite friendly.

Nice place. Simple rooms and nice breakfast. We really liked the gothic interior and it was great for the price! Only thing is that the carpet wasn't super clean and the bath towels were a little yellow. Overall a nice stay.

No matter how many stars a hotel in Cologne has, the beds are always small, the elevators are small, and the breakfast is the same: bread, cheese, and salad.

I have to say that the hotel was only suitable for sleeping. However, I wouldn't stay there any longer.

It is about a 12-minute walk from Cologne Cathedral and Cologne Main Train Station. The price is affordable, the rooms are small but well-equipped, quiet, elegant and stylish. It is worth recommending!

The location is very good, only 15 minutes to Cologne Cathedral and the train station. The staff is also very friendly. A very good choice for traveling alone and with friends.

Terrible room, weird atmosphere in the whole hotel

It's really, really bad. First of all, the hotel is very, very old, the entrance is very small, and there is a sex shop next to it. It's not safe for women to go out alone. I booked a twin bed and was given a very small queen bed. I negotiated with the front desk and they said it was a queen bed, but they ignored the words "two single beds" on the reservation form. Then they said that this is what you hoped for, which is not true. There is only a double bed. After Ctrip negotiated, they gave us a twin room. The room smelled bad, the shower water wouldn't go down, and water leaked everywhere. There was no floor drain on the floor, and the heating in the room was broken. Even if I asked to change rooms, I couldn't change them. I stayed for one night and ran away. We advise everyone not to order.

Good location and friendly staff. They gave us a room with two single beds (we booked a double bed) which turned out to be mattresses with springs that came out. They were probably from some very old sofa bed. We had to complain twice to be moved to a room that was like the one we had booked. The girl at reception was friendly and understanding, but we had to insist a lot. As for breakfast, it is extremely basic and not at all like the photos: just toast with sausage, rather bad coffee that they put in a jug and yogurts. No pastries or hot options. If you find it at a good price, it can be an option, but don't pay too much for this old hotel.
