3-Star Hotels in Cologne

The hotel is an easy walk (just a few minutes) from the railway station. It is about two minutes walk to the cathedral which you can see (and hear) from the hotel: the bells chime quite loudly at about 08:00 am and other times. Rooms are a decent size and the beds are very comfortable. It is clean and in the room there is a safe, tv, bathroom with a shower (that oddly has no shower curtain or screen - the floor gets quite wet). Breakfast is good and includes the normal range of hot and cold foods from croissants, toast, bacon, egg, sausage, buns, cereals, hams, salamis, cheeses, coffee, tea, hot water and some really very nice fruit juices (some of the nicest I have tasted in a hotel). The staff in the dining area were really pleasant and friendly. The reception staff were a little more varied but polite and efficient enough. Outside the hotel doesn't look that much but it is generally pleasant and a great base inside. Next door are some convenience store types of shops and a kebab house that I tried and it was exactly the same as back home. McDonalds is just across the road, if that is your thing. We walked to all of the Christmas markets (where we did most of our eating) and around the city centre and down to the Rhine. All are in easy walking distance. There is a bag room where you can leave your bags upon checkout and come back for them later. The security of that was a little lax as people just walked in from the street and took their bags. I went to the reception and told them I was taking mine and the lady looked as if to say, ”ok fine.” No checks. There is also little checking of people walking in from the street and just going upstairs but the doors on the rooms were pretty secure. The lighting is not great in the room and the lights around the hotel are seemingly hanging from their connections. Overall it was a great base from which to explore the city and get to and from. good night's sleep - despite the bells and a good breakfast. I would stay again for a short break in the city.

Ignore the reviews!! Mum and I had hiccups when we arrived the wonderful receptionist sorted our issues out with friendly speed, excellent stay in the triple room , despite not having the bath for mum, they change our room, the hotel is excellent position for visitors

The hotel is awaiting, used and has been behind its best times for a long time. In the shop 6. OG, which you reach through unplane stairs and different levels of ground, you have set up 2 “rooms” that are the same small, sharp chambers. It is uncreasing that you still get such a thing offered today. The tape floors in the rivers are full of spots and completely unprecedented. Unfortunately, the old reception area and all the other hotel areas are also less invited. Where the alleged 3-Sterne-Bewertung has its right, unfortunately we have not reached. A loud, graceful hotel that you should leave quickly and forget again as quickly as possible.

The location is good, walking about 15 minutes to the Dom, in a quiet side street. Rooms are clean and well equipped but small. There are some houses that have been assembled here, so there will be differences in size of the rooms. Beautiful and large choice for breakfast, which was included on the site for an unprecedented price. Deep garage available at charge, too wide should not be the car for it. Check in and out has worked wonderfully.

Llegamos por la noche a este hotel, en la recepción había un señor que la verdad nos atendió de forma cordial y educada, a pesar de no hablar nada en español, nos entendimos en ingles. La primera impresión del hotel, es de una pensión, para nada lo catalogaría de hotel. El ascensor es de lo mas antiguo que yo me acuerdo ver. La llave de la habitación es un bloque de pesada, nada practica para llevártela. Alquilamos un coche, y la verdad que no encontramos problemas para aparcar cerca del ”hotel”. Cuando entramos en la habitación, lo primero que hice fue compararla con lo que había visto en la pagina del hotel en internet, difiere un poco sobre todo en la decoración pero para ser honesta con mi experiencia, la habitación para 3 personas es espaciosa, nos dieron una con vistas al exterior y luminosa, que se agradece muchísimo y el baño, bastante amplio, pero con defectos, de hecho según el plano que ponen detrás de las puertas era la mas grande de la planta. Al dia siguiente puedes ver mejor la habitacion, aparentemente limpia, sabanas limpias, baño limpio,.. pero SORPRESA!!! NOS ENCONTRAMOS UNA PRENDA DE ROPA INTERIOR SOBRE LA BUTACA QUE QUEDABA DEBAJO DEL ESCRITORIO. Madre mía!!!! casi me da algo. Sin embargo, la habitación estaba limpia, hasta la cortina del baño la habían puesto nueva, se notaba, tenia todavía los pliegues del doblado. Fui a comunicarlo a recepción, esperando como mínimo una disculpa y un que se yo, pero el comentario del recepcionista, un Sr bastante seco y desagradable y desde luego que no se caracterizaba por su cordialidad y simpatía y una Sra. rubia que estaba a su lado en la recepción , fue un ”Gracias” y coger el numero de la habitacion. Me quede en el mostrador esperando una reacción mas acorde con lo sucedido, pero nada, no la hubo. La habitación tiene el hueco para un refrigerador pequeño, pero no lo hay, las habitaciones no son insonorizadas, se escucha los golpes de los clientes de arriba y del pasillo, aunque debo decir que no fue lo habitual. Hace falta un cambio de colchones urgente, se hunden muchisimo. La bañera es altísima, y cuesta salir de ella. Ahora, lo positivo, la situación del hotel es muy buena, a 20 min caminando, llegamos a la catedral y centro histórico. Cerca de muchos restaurantes, que cierran bastante tarde. Wifi en el hotel. La habitación se limpiaba y se cambiaban las toallas todos los días. La moqueta relativamente limpia, la habitación con calefacción. La verdad y para finalizar, y viendo las cosas por el lado positivo como lugar de transito y para pasar la noche, porque el resto del día estamos fuera visitando los alrededores, no esta mal.

The hotel emailed us at short notice to change where we were staying but then decided not to reply to any of our emails back to them. Because of this we arrived at the rearranged hotel completely confused about how long we were supposed to be staying there for. The hotel was particularly unwelcoming and it took them a while to work out that we were in fact staying there. The room was in a poor condition, with stains all over the curtains, the pillows were uncomfortable and lumpy and no extra pillows were provided (until we asked reception to provide more). There were two very small single duvets provided for the bed and the hotel was unable to provide a double duvet when asked. The hairdryer did not work and the hotel did not replace this despite us asking. The shower also did not drain so it filled up when it was used. Further to this considering it is December we needed the radiators on, however the radiators were extremely noisy and kept us awake all night. This hotel was further away from the landmarks that we had planned our trip around which incurred extra costs. The hotel has neglected to reply to any of our emails (before or after our trip), I would not book with them again.

The hotel is located beside the train station. There are many restaurants nearby and the cathedral is not too far away. The staffs were a little weird. They tried to be funny but maybe something was lost in translation and made us feeling uncomfortable. One of the staffs didn’t understand our question in English, but instead of trying to understand our question, she insisted her answer which left us more confused. Another staff completely ignored us when we were trying to talk to him because he was “busy” doing something else behind the desk although he made a lot of uncomfortable jokes at the beginning.

Good hotel close to the airport. There is a direct bus to the airport and a tram to the center of Cologne. The breakfast is good, there is no hot food, except for boiled eggs. But a good selection of sausages, cheese, fresh bread, yogurt, vegetables, fruits. 2 types of juice, tea, instant coffee. Something sweet. Reception is open 24/7 and you can leave your luggage when you check out. Got a room with a balcony! I ordered a regular double. The beds are comfortable. Batteries worked in winter, it was comfortable. Refrigerator, kettle. There was a safe. For some reason, there is only one mug. The soundproofing is good, you can't hear your neighbors. Of the minuses, not all the lights were on, it was a bit dark. The curtain is torn.

Context: Stayed here with my wife and friends in Jul-2022. Arranged at short notice after Airbnb let us down. Pros: On Brusselerstrasse, part of an area with lots of good restaurants, and easy to get to centre of town. Desk staff friendly. Room windows can be open completely which is much better than most hotels. Breakfast included. Reasonable outdoor seating area. Cons: Bed set up was different to our booking. One large flat pillow. Had to ask for towels. Quite loud until late on a weekend. Few power sockets - glad I brought a runner socket.. Limited place to store cases. Not comfortable to sit around in room. Door says best prices offered inside; desk staff said best prices offered online (and the online prices were about 25% less). Overall: Probably a little overpriced, but would be happy enough to stay here again..

I'm not going to lie - I wasn't a fan of this hotel. That is NOT to say it wasn't nice but it really wasn't for me. It totally lacked personality. For the price you can't really complain but there was nothing that particularly stood out for me. I felt like I was staying in an office building. The WIFI was really quick (which was a bonus) and there was towels and soap provided. The staff were OK but I didn't really get a customer service feel to be honest. The cleaner offered me a fan in the heat (which was lovely). This review might be a bit harsh (simply because it wasn't my type of place) but I was glad I only stayed here one night. The view from my room was absolutely shocking (a building under construction) and no provision was made for the loud noise by the construction workers. On the plus side, it was in a really good location (next to the shopping centre). I wouldn't come back to be honest!
