Cambria Hotel Columbus - Polaris

We used reward points for this stay and it was a great value. The hotel was easily accessible off the interstate and was close to a mall; and a Costco was located across the street. We asked for a two queen bed suite and the room was outstanding. We had lots of room, a couch, and two flat screen televisions. There were plenty of plugs for our electronic devices and a Keurig coffee maker in the room. I would give this hotel a 6 plus if allowed.

When we arrived at the hotel the staff member informed me that the payment card that I had used to reserve the room was not a permissible card for payment and that I would need an additional card. I inquired about using cash and was told that I could pay with cash when we left but that they needed to put a card on file and hold the entire amount on that card until we checked out. HASSLES. Went to the room and the room had an horrific odor in the room, and the refrigerator had an even worse odor in it. Kids running around upstairs bouncing on the floors. The walls are literally paper thin and this facility is old and really run down. It needs a major overhaul or torn down and rebuilt.

Stayed Last Thursday- Saturday and we had a great experience. Angela at the front desk was super helpful and kind. Actually, al the staff was really wonderful. Pros: -Clean rooms -Would recommend for families -Great breakfast options ( cheese, omelettes, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, bagels, English muffins, yogurt, cereal) - Pool area is excellent. However, I don't think it is the most appropriate for 1.5 year old (which is how old my daughter is). There is a step down to get into the water and the shallow end is still about 1-1.5 ft deep so not much of an area where a toddler could just sit in shallow water ( 0-6 inches) and just splash around. Would work the best for just a tad older kids. All the kids I saw in the pool area was having a blast and they looked to be anywhere from 5- early teens. - They have quiet hours from 10p-7am - Microwave and mini fridge in the room Cons: - The water was cold :( when you walk in to the pool area it feels like the water will be warm but it was super chilly. I think each time we only spent about 1/2 hour in the pool area and my daughter didn't want to be in the pool because how chilly it was. Her had a purple/blue tint to them because of her chill. Location: I think it is a great location to Polaris. However it is not on the same side as the mall. There are limited options for walking to a nearby restaurant. I imagine you could have more options if you don't mind walking and weather permitting. The closest option is Bonefish Grill and it is about the length of a football field away. There are other options down the road that I am sure you could walk to. It is super close to Ikea and TopGolf.

Being a Hilton Lifetime Diamond member, I review by Pro’s and Con’s. Pro’s Excellent location adjacent to major shopping mall. Many restaurants and retailers is close proximity Right off the interstate, easy to access. Newer Hotel, built about 2006 I believe, with very clean rooms. Nothing to complain about the interior. Excellent gym Rarer Hilton with an Executive Lounge, very nice with snacks every night and an excellent breakfast. We were upgraded to a very nice room and it was very much appreciated. Con’s The only thing I did not like was the extremely loud noise that the doors made when closing. It was like they were slamming shut. I am going to try and attach a picture of the quietest door closer I have ever seen. Tonight I am at the Hilton Garden Inn Port St Lucie. These closers are very quiet and should be standard at every Hilton property.
