Rather slow service in the restaurant and bar, understaffed. Bath/shower could use a better showerhead

Well located in a quiet area, we arrived at the hotel at 9 in the morning. They left us the room at the same time. Comfortable bed. What I liked least was the dinner, it could be better.

It is close to the center, about 10 minutes walk. The pool is large and very well maintained. Spacious and clean room. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired compared to other paradors, especially taking into account its price, they should improve that service (coffee capsules that pour everything except coffee, they do not replace the plates, neither the breeds nor the bowls, they do not there were bottles of water...).

A modern parador, spotlessly clean with very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed here for 11 days ( in fact as I write this we are still here, leaving in two days time). It's SO peaceful and relaxing, very quiet and hushed. The grounds are good and there's a pool but it was too cold for me, and others who tried it gasped in shock when first entering the cold water. No matter, the position and mountain views are amazing, breakfast is superb too. However you need to boil the small kettle if you'd like a cup of tea at breakfast. Coffee is much more the Spanish way of life. Rooms are excellent, large, with a strong shower and nice bathroom. The parador is approx 5-10 mins from centre of town ...which is amazing. Lots to see. Great places to eat (try the bullring, arte de tapas and recuerdos bodega tapas near the parador. You can eat at the parador although it's a little more pricey than in town but if breakfast is anything to go by, the food will be amazing We came without a car and used local buses and trains to get around, visited Cordoba, and the local tour company Tour Group del Dolmenes, in the old square, run by Deborah (it's the only place in town you can buy postcards) and we went on two tours, the Dolmenes and el Torcal. Don't miss either! Antequera is a wonderful place and I hope that if you're reading this you enjoy it as much as I have.

My first time in a parador and was a little disappointed. I expected something more than a standard run of the mill (I seem to remember an official 3 star) hotel especially considering the price difference between this and other hotels in Antequera (parador was at least 2 times the price of others). Overall it was fine; the room had enough storage space, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped. However there was a really odd ‘light switch’ next to the bed. It wasn’t a light switch but a switch to turn off the power in the room. I sleep with a small piece of medical equipment which was plugged in on my side of the bed. My partner thought he switched the bedside light off but inadvertently switched off the power and therefore also my medical equipment. This really needs to be pointed out by the hotel; it’s certainly not a normal feature and could be dangerous. Overall the hotel would benefit from a refresh… for example the bedroom floor was very scratched where the chair under the desk had been dragged across it many times, the window shades were looking shabby with peeling paint. The swimming pool area and garden were nice and peaceful and offered lovely views over the mountains, and was the only place we could access the wi fi. In room connection was impossible, and for the last 24 hours we were there it didn’t work at all. I saw a tired receptionist tell a guest ‘it doesn’t work and we have no idea why nor when it will again’. The main reason we chose to stay here was for the apparent easy access to the station (Antequera AV or estacion ciudad as the locals call it). Looking on Google maps it shows a 15 min walk but from what we could see, and no one could tell us otherwise it is impossible to walk to the station due to the road layout. The receptionist told us they thought there is an underpass, but couldn’t tell us how to get through it, so we took a taxi each time we went to the station which somewhat voided the reason we stayed here. Location wise it’s close to the bull ring, and about a 20 min walk into the old town.

This hotel is between Cordoba and Malaga and in a good location for visiting El Caminito del Rey and the El Torco NP. Antequera itself has some fascinating dolmens, an interesting city museum and an alcazaba. We were upgraded to a suite which was very comfortable and spacious and we had a tasty dinner of some regional specialities (roast goat)

Comfortable hotel with good service, average food and absolutely no valentine decoration; too cool hotel for us maybe because its too modern and not as the usual paradores are. Anyway we enjoyed the luxury, the service and the clean room

Very good Parador close to old town and bullring, which is definitely worth a visit because of its structure. Excellent staff, good view, lovely grounds, swimming pool and good food in restaurant.Highly recommend

Unfortunately so many issues during our visit - room was freezing cold and could not be heated, restaurant very slow service, quality of food either bar or restaurant - poor quality and very expensive. This was the worst experience we have had of any Paradores and we have used 16 in the last 3 years
