"I booked maple lodge as it was close to my daughter’s wedding venue. We had planned a nice chilled girly night, watching a film having face packs etc. The afternoon we were due to check in, I received an email telling me there was a change of lodge, and to bring our own towels. Hawthorne was tired, dirty, stunk of damp. Mould in the bathroom, no hot water. The furniture was disgusting in the lounge/ kitchen. The leather is peeling off the sofa,there were dirty marks up the walls, filled holes that hadn’t even been rubbed down. There were black mould marks on the worktop and the table. I rang the proprietor who was absolutely vile. I tried to tell him what the issues where, he proceeded to talk over me. When I asked him if he could let me speak, he put the phone down on me. Later that evening his wife rang me, ranting and shouting because *********** had been on to them. I was told what do you expect for the money you’ve paid £326 for two nights. If you don’t like it leave, you will not be getting a penny back. They are the most unprofessional people I’ve ever had the displeasure of talking to. We did leave at ten pm, because my granddaughter was upset by the woman’s aggressive attitude. she was unaware that we were recording the call, which I emailed to the relevant people. She tried to call me again at 22:38, shev also sent a disgusting text. After reading other reviews I recorded us leaving and how tidy we’d left it. I had to clean everywhere down before we used anything.Needless to say I had a full refund from the bank. They shouldn’t be allowed to advertise on sites because the lodges they’re advertising are fake. If you are thinking of staying, please don’t save your money."

"There is a direct bus to hotel from airport and a bus stop at 10 mins away from hotel back to airport. The walls have no stains which is nice and the bathroom is clean and tidy but the bed linen has quite a lot of stains. Some dust also appeared on the pillow and it is actually hard to spot them because of the dim lighting. The water pump is also working fine. The staff are super friendly when I forgot to bring a plug and realised that there is no USB charge spot."

"The hotel itself was fine, aside from the lack of bottled water, luggage racks, and absolutely no toiletries – everything else was normal. However, their parking lot is a huge problem. Firstly, guests aren't told in advance that parking requires a reservation. Secondly, I'm not sure if their drop-off point is only for disabled people or what, but there's a 'no entry' sign at what looks like a drop-off entrance. Thirdly, even if you don't have a reservation and the car park is fully booked, the gate will still open. But if you don't pay 60 pounds, the car park attendant will make it difficult for you to leave, even if the hotel reception has already entered your license plate to give you 1 or 4 hours free and told you to move your car to an open-air car park about a 15-minute walk away. In the end, several guests were in the same situation, blocking the car park exit. The first guest had to go back to the hotel to grab a receptionist and bring them to the car park entrance to negotiate with the car park staff for half an hour before they finally opened the gate and let people leave."

"Arrived 9:50pm after a 3 hour drive. No one was in the reception, and we waited about 10 minutes for someone to eventually book us in. We put our bag in the room and went to the bar to find it had shut. No where to get food or drink. At breakfast next morning the coffee machine was broken, only instant sachets available, which I hate. We had to go to the garage after we left to buy a cup of coffee. The toasting machines were terribly slow and need replacing. This was a very dissappointing stay."
