📍 34 Spaanschemat River Rd, Cape Town, Constantia

"Loved our stay here, even though it was just one night, wished we could stay longer. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in SA. Large comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff. Nice garden and pool area. Great breakfast. Handy for everything in Constantia and beyond."

The Cellars-Hohenort

The Cellars-Hohenort ★★★★★

📍 93 Brommersvlei Rd, Constantia Heights, Constantia

"The Cellars-Hohenhort is a lovely place to stay in the Constantia area. It was a quick drive from Cape town International airport. We used the official taxi stand and the price to get there was 550 Rand. The property is so beautiful and the staff is really nice. We are Hilton diamond and no upgrade was available. We booked on points and had the lowest level room. It was up on the the third floor and there is no lift. Luckily, the bell staff carried our luggage up. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. We could see in to some of the other rooms during the cleaning service and they looked like they had really nice views. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We missed seeing the resident tortoise outside so we may need to make another trip to South Africa."

Glen Avon Lodge Boutique Hotel

Glen Avon Lodge Boutique Hotel ★★★★

📍 Glen Avon Cl, Cape Town, Constantia

"We spent three nights at the hotel at the beginning of our stay in South Africa and three days at the end. The 'suite' we had for the second stay was superior to the first one but both were more than adequate. The service was excellent and the breakfast, on a terrace overlooking the garden, was particularly good. The hotel has a very 'homely' feel."

Beluga of Constantia Guest House

📍 Connor Close 5, Constantia

"Lovely guest house in beautiful surroundings. The pool is lovely for a refreshing swim, the Continental breakfast is perfect, and the room is clean, laundry service is great, and it’s like a home from home. Refreshments available at any time, and host gives good recommendations for visits and walks etc. Highly recommend."

"We had a very comfortable stay. A nice room, a small terrace with view on flowers and trees. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We could get in earlier than the check-in time, which was nice for us. Breakfast outside on the terrace. Constantia is a nice area. So we enjoyed this stay very much!"

"From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave everything and everyone is perfect. Our room (number 4) was enormous. It is basically one very large room with a lounge area and then the bedroom area and then the bathroom with a sliding door so it can be shut off. There are doors opening onto the garden and swimming pool. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is plenty of choice for breakfast with anything cooked freshly prepared. In summary a fantastic place to stay."

The Cellars-Hohenort ★★★★★
"Pros: -Reception: Exquisite. By the time we reached the front desk, they already had our registration, a warm towel (soaked in lemongrass scent) & sweet iced tea ready. A duty manager (Ashwin) walked us to our room, showed us around, and answered all our questions. Duty Manager Llewelyn courteously extended our stay to 8 pm to accommodate our late-night flight departure. Personalized letter in our room explaining the available services and facilities. Nougats were offered as farewell gifts. - Room: A cheese and cracker plate plus a full-size bottle of wine welcomed us. Bedroom was small but had lots of storage. Bathroom was spacious, featuring a full bathtub, a large shower stall and 2 sinks. Amenities contained essential oils from Africology. Mini fridge contained complimentary Coke Zero, lemonade, beers, and water, plus cans of nuts, biltong, gummies, & chips. 2 hooks and 2 big towel racks (one heated as long as the correct switch is flipped) in the bathroom. 1 hook on the entry door to the bedroom. - Meals: Dinner was delicious (free-range beef burger, paella, & chocolate financier) and featured top-notch service. Different restaurant staff frequently checked on us. Restaurant (called the conservatory) is beautifully decorated with a full view of the greenery outside. Lunch was also delicious (Cesar Salad, Calamari, Oysters, & Chicken). Prices were amazingly reasonable for quality. - Facilities: Old-fashioned decorations but beautiful and clean. 2 outdoor swimming pools with heated water. - Location: Isolated in a remote place, with a security guard checking entries. The grounds spread out with nicely kept gardens and trees all around. Cons: - Bedroom: Windows without screens allowed big flies inside. The curtains allowed sunshine through early in the morning. - Bathroom: An instructive sign on the heated towel rack would be helpful. Water pressure was low. No handheld shower wand was provided. - Service: No Disturb sign was ignored. - Facilities: There were no elevators because the whole hotel consisted of 2 main buildings that used to be some old mansions, plus some detached small houses."

Constantia White Lodge Guest House ★★★★
"A friend had recommended a different guesthouse in Constantia, which wasn't available on our dates, so we booked White Lodge and I'm so glad we did. Parking was included and secure. Friendly check in, where we were offered cold drinks. Large clean room, with one of biggest beds I've ever slept in, tea, rooibos, coffee, cookies and water in room. Bathroom clean, with lots of toiletries and a good shower. Pool area is lovely with lots of loungers. We used the reasonably priced honesty bar for our sundowners and the lounge area for a takeaway, as we'd been travelling all day and didn't fancy going out to a restaurant. Breakfast was perfect, a small buffet with fruit, yogurt, cereals, muffins and bread, and then cooked to order items. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. This was the perfect choice for our first night in South Africa and I hope that we can return another time."

"This is the second time I've stayed at Constantia Vista, the first time was as a solo traveller and second with hubby and daughter. The location is simply fabulous, close enough to shops and restaurants but quiet. The facilities were really good and Ian/Siya were on hand for anything we needed. I look forward to a return visit!"
