The experience was disappointing. We began with the vegetable soup, which was quite oily, and we weren't given all the necessary cutlery for our meal. Next, I ordered the pizza. It was undercooked and very doughy, with a grainy texture on the base that felt like sand. I couldn’t finish it. My partner had the toasted sandwich with chips. The sandwich was bland. The chips seemed reheated or refried; they were very dark brown and tough. The service was okay; the staff were friendly and we did not wait long for our food. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and a view of the bay. However, nothing stood out about the presentation of the food. There was a good variety on the menu, but the overall experience did not meet my expectations. The only thing I’d recommend is the coffee. Overall, it was not worth the price.

The Schull Harbour Hotel is a good base for a visit to West Cork. We had a sea view room and the it was very nice. We ate in the restaurant both nights and enjoyed our meals. The only other place to get food after 6pm was the Chinese takeaway, so choices are limited once the Summer season is finished. There was music in the bar on Wednesday, it finished at 10pm and the bar emptied out, so there was little atmosphere. There is only one pub open in the village, so if you are looking for nightlife you are in the wrong place.

Just back from a two night stay at Schull Harbour hotel. We had a wonderful family get away. We stayed in the apartments with our baby and two dogs. Check in was so pleasant and the apartment was warm and toasty when we arrived. It was like a home away from home. Everything was provided to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare family meals. We travel a lot with our son and he slept peacefully both nights in his extremely comfortable carry cot. Our bed was so cozy and the bed linen was fabulous. The apartment had a high chair which came in extremely handy. We also had use of a dishwasher and washing machine. It was spotlessly clean and the jacuzzi bath in the bathroom was a particular favourite for our little man. The menu in the bar is incredible and we enjoyed the most delicious cocktails on one of the evenings during our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with how reasonably priced food and beverages were. The weather was particularly bad during our visit but it didn’t matter because the hotel have an incredible leisure centre that we enjoyed. The pool was clean and warm and the staff were extremely accommodating. It was safe for our fur babies and they had lots of room to roam around our ground floor apartment. The view was just splendid and there are the loveliest little shops down Main Street. The hotel provided entertainment in the evenings which was so much fun and really enhanced our stay. A perfect base for a deeply relaxing family staycation in beautiful west Cork.

The perfect place to start your trip to the southwestern Cork peninsulas. We had a nice see view room, the hotel is very clean and cosy and tasteful. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and helpful with tips about where to go and what to do. Public parking in front of the hotel. The breakfast is very tasteful and the restaurant is really good.

Booked hotel last minute as I had a business call in the area to cover next day. I booked via hotel website and got a good price. Pricing structure for room rate with and without breakfast etc. were a little confusing but the end result was favorable. Check-in was a bit disappointing as there was no-one present. After a 5hr drive and wanting to get to my room, I was getting a little impatient standing around. Eventually a pleasant lady arrived and took me through the routine. Not the best first impression or start to my stay. Room (Room 110) was clean and comfortable and had a decent shower. There was however, an annoying noise (Room 110) like the sound of a fan or something similar which I had to endure until after 11pm. Unsure if it was a kitchen fan? I would look for a different room if returning at a later date. Bathroom toilet flush was missing a button which took away from the visuals (see picture). The provision of two cookies with the coffee machine was a nice touch - I tried to make a cup of tea and failed after one water dispense which only filled half the cup. I tried again to add more water but the machine kept flashing red lights so I gave up! I ate in the lounge and had chowder for starter and fish/chips for mains. This was washed down by two pints of really good Guinness. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Possibly too quick as I handed my bill before I had finished my first pint and was fully intended on having a second one. Breakfast was good and there was a good selection. Again, service was too quick as I was served my Full Irish before I had eaten my fruit bowl. This made me suspicious that it was pre-cooked or cancelled by someone else? In any case I enjoyed the food and left for work once all was gone! I was asked by the lady checking me out if everything was ok and I should have taken the time to share my feedback but I declined as I was in a hurry to get to my call. My bad. A little tidying up on service detail would help improve the overall experience. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Harbour Hotel and yes, I would stay again!

We went for dinner at the hotel on our last visit a year ago and I had good memories of having a lovely experience. With that in mind on our visit to Schull this year I thought I’d spoil my wife and child to a lovely breakfast at the hotel. Disappointing to say the least. My wife ordered a peppermint tea that never appeared. I ordered the eggs florentine and it was two eggs that had been hard boiled for minutes longer than they should have been. Quite literally two bouncy balls for eggs. We ate the meal, and at payment I mentioned about the eggs. That portion of the meal was refunded. We’d been charged for the tea and obviously we got the removed from the bill to. I mention the removals from the bill as at least this was done fairly, but it wasn’t a good good experience and I don’t recommend eating there.

4 of us stayed recently for 1 night Positives Very comfortable beds Lovely views Car park across the road Easy access to pubs etc Nice food and good dinner service Negatives On check in we were told we only had 2 rooms booked, I waited calmly for 5 minutes until the receptionist figured out that we had 3 rooms booked, No rails in the shower so not very safe Seemed to be short staffed at breakfast

Stayed for one night in a twin room with a sea view. Room was spotless and the view was spectacular. Loads of parking and only a very short stroll to the Main Street of Schull. Breakfast was included and staff were very helpful and attentive. Posting this review as the hotel is a little gem in west Cork.
