Sangat Island Dive Resort

This is a resort with both obvious advantages and disadvantages. It's great for diving, but if you're just looking for a relaxing vacation, think twice. Room facilities are as pictured. There's no hot water, no air conditioning, and virtually no cell phone signal (except for a little bit on Globe). It's very basic; even the drinking water is salty (you can ask the front desk to buy bottled water). Wi-Fi is only available in the restaurant area. The rooms have virtually no soundproofing or light blocking, making them perfect for sleeping at sunset and waking at sunrise. You'll be completely accompanied by the sound of the waves. There are many crab-eating macaques on the island. Be careful, as they might steal your snacks. Clothes and such are not a concern. On the positive side: The location is excellent. The resort is on a private island, very close to various shipwrecks, the closest being the Olympia Maru, which is only a 2-3 minute boat ride away. Diving is very comfortable; you don't have to take long boat trips, and you can return to the island to rest after each dive. There are dives at 8 am, 11 am, and 2 pm, allowing you to choose freely. The hotel is very pristine, with a beautiful environment, especially at night with minimal light pollution, making for an amazing stargazing experience. For service, I recommend going if you have strong English communication skills; the experience will be much better. The island offers meal service, mainly featuring white cuisine, but it's quite delicious, and the cocktails are also good.

I understand that on such an island, human experience must yield to environmental protection, but Starlink providing Wi-Fi doesn't affect the environment at all, yet there's no signal in the hotel rooms; This isn't just environmentally conscious, it's almost obsessive. Of course, the environment is beautiful, and the staff are patient and friendly. However: 1. Airport pickup was an hour late with no apology; 2. The front desk phone was practically unreachable, and most of the time no one answered; 3. The hotel didn't proactively email me about airport pickup arrangements; I had to contact them three days before departure using an email address I specifically requested from Ctrip; 4. Even if you have unforeseen circumstances preventing check-in, there's no refund; I was delayed until the next day due to airline issues, and I received no refund; 5. **I was told I needed to change rooms the next day without prior notice, even though my room type hadn't changed.** The reason given for the room was that someone else had booked it. It was actually the same room type, but they gave the better location (closer to the sea) to someone else, leaving me with a spot furthest from the beach. 6. Again, priority was given to those who wanted to change rooms. I booked three days, didn't check in on the first day, checked in on the second day, and requested a room change for the third day. When I asked for the key, they didn't give me one. I waited for 10 minutes before a staff member finally arrived. When they were still 10 meters away, someone else had a question, so the staff member turned around and guided that person first, only coming over after finishing. However, not everyone was so bad. The people at the dive shop next door were very nice, especially the young man with jellyfish tattoos. That dive shop was very professional and provided excellent service.

The rooms and facilities are relatively primitive, but they are sufficient. There is a great dog on the island. The sea and beach are completely incomparable to the one island one hotel in Maldives and Mataking. There are crabs for dinner

The service is very good, the environment is very good, with green mountains and clear waters. It was very considerate to arrange with the hotel in advance to go to Zuri Hotel to pick up the island (the hotel contact number on Ctrip was wrong, and I found the phone number on the official website myself). The stilt houses are very unique, with 2 beds in each room. The wind was strong and the waves were surging on the first night. I was a little scared when I heard the noise outside. The windows in the room were all screens and could not be closed. Fortunately, there was a bed not close to the window. The hotel's dining is simple and tastes good. Ginger tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits are provided all day. The watermelon juice in the bar is very expensive, more than 500 pesos, which is twice the price of other hotels. Because I don't know how to dive, I booked a half-day tour at 1 pm the next day at the hotel. I didn't expect to be told that there was no boat at noon the next day. Under my insistence, the hotel coordinated a boat. The half-day tour of the sea hot spring is worth playing. The hotel's snorkeling equipment and fins are not free, but the price is moderate.

Five-star recommendation! The environment is good, the service is good, I took care of 4 meals, the snorkeling at the door is beautiful, I will come again in the future, but there is no air conditioning and hot water, but it is completely unnecessary, 100 points!
