And to top it off, Carlo, who is a 5 star chef, prepared an incredible 10 course meal for us the evening we arrived. The fact that he has cooked for Michelle Obama, Sophia Loren and Giorgio Armani should say it all. An incredibly delicious evening! This had to be one of our more memorable stays and meals. Guests will leave with a heightened appreciation for this precious Piemontese agricultural product. I've been coming here for nearly 27 years and this was such an eye-opener for us. We spent a little over an hour with Isabella touring the hazelnut and bakery facilities. We then sat down on the terrace next to one of the huge groves of hazelnut trees to enjoy a multi-course lunch Isabella prepared for us. This truly is a must visit either for a day trip to the high Langa or for an overnight in nature in one of Cascina Barroero's apartments high above the Bormida valley.
