Cortez Hotels with Gym

Excellent place you won’t be disappointed clean sharp everything accounted for housekeeping with great maintenance was on point front desk made you feel welcome every time you came in even if you had a problem which I didn’t I would stay there again no problem. Breakfast was wonderful.

Before we made reservations at hotels along our road trip route we looked at numerous reviews others had made to Trip Advisor. The reviews for this particular hotel were good to excellent. So we went ahead and reserved a room here. Boy were we disappointed when we checked into this hotel for the night. The carpet in our room was so dirty and stained we kept our shoes on until we went to bed for the night. The next morning we showered and immediately put our socks and shoes back on just so we did not have to touch the carpet. The sheets on the bed looked clean so no problem there. However. the mattress on the bed was in desperate need of replacing. One half of the mattress, on a king size bed, sunk in so bad that when you laid on it your body sunk down in a hole. Not sure what room others who have reviewed this place had but it certainly must not have been the room we were put in. Overall would rate this place as poor and in need of updating or better cleaning. Traveler beware.

Just this morning I checked out of this hotel, and upon arriving home I found I was missing my car keys (having been traveling with my parents). I call this hotel and it rings and rings, finally going to a voice mailbox that is too full to leave a message. I’m desperate so I call again... and again... and again. By now I realize someone is there, they’re just not answering. It goes straight to voicemail after a single ring. I keep calling, because now I’m indignant. I change my cell phone so it doesn’t show my called ID and sure enough the guy picks up. “I just need to know if I left my car keys in room 103,” I say. He replies “we don’t have a room 103” and hangs up. This might be true, although I’m pretty certain that was my room number, but nonetheless I still didn’t have an answer, and I was more outraged than ever. I kept calling. “Mother f****r, what do you want?!” He bellows several calls later. “I just need to know if my car keys were left in...” “NO” he shouted, hanging up again. I kept calling (47x) but now he was lifting the receiver and slamming it down and I knew no matter how annoying I was I wasn’t going to get an answer. So I still don’t know if they have my car keys and I think I’ve gained and enemy for life. Oh PS the hotel was old and dingy but clean. Other than the awful, awful manager I would have given my recommendation to stay there for a cheap, decent nights sleep.

Staying here has always been a safe, affordable, convenient, choice. The family that operates the Cortez Super 8 are wonderful and amazing. They are considered family now You have been there time and time again for us ❤️. Everyone here goes above and beyond! Thank You again!
