Very clean modern hotel with nice rooms but lacking any atmosphere as no lounge area. Bar is situated in the very open to the elements dinning area which gets cold and windy. Food was edible but not very warm. Pool was out of service when we were there which was a big disappointment as beach was quite a trek.

Excellent hotel - contemporary, clean and friendly. Excellent food, such a variety. Spacious rooms with terrace or balcony. Best for quiet adult only holiday. Nice pool. A walk from the beach but good exercise! I recommend this hotel, it’s one of the more modern hotels on the island.

I was concerned about hotel Taimar as we received a lukewarm welcome from reception on arrival. I shouldn’t have worried. The hotel has lovely rooms and everywhere was very clean. The main reason we enjoyed our stay was the lovely staff. The waiting staff, cleaning and maintenance staff were all very friendly cheerful and helpful. A big shout out to the chefs and kitchen staff for the fantastic food. Always plenty of choice with some things I’ve never tried before as well as more standard food and some dishes with Spanish influences I particularly enjoyed the gazpacho which the best I’ve tasted If you want a relaxing quiet stay with a great beach 15 minute walk away I’d recommend

We stayed here for my friends birthday We came for a chill week, it ended up feeling like a horror film. Let me just bullet point eveything that happened; - We left a chair outside on the terrace, it rained and it got on the chair. We didn’t know it was going to rain. But fair enough, we left it outside, if there’s damage we’ll pay for it. They locked us out of our room when we went for breakfast and told us they’d let us back in once the manager came. When is the manager coming? They don’t know. So we’re locked out of our room, they’ve told us they’ve gone through the room to ‚inspect’ it. Our passports and valuables were there (it’s illegal to hold passports in Spain- fun fact). The man at reception was so aggressive telling us WHY we’ve been locked out. He wouldn’t explain anything ans just told us to wait. Good thing we made some friends otherwise we’d have been sat out in the rain for hours like wet dogs. - Finally the manager came. The hotel is claiming there’s severe water damage on the chair (I’ll attach photos of DRY chair). Manager tells us we’re going to have to pay. We of course agree- like I said it’s our fault we will take responsibility. We finally are allowed to go back to the room, the chair is dry. The floor under the chair is dry. We take photos. - Later on in the evening- manager comes to us in the dining hall to tell us that the bill is at reception. I beg the manager to come look at the chair. She refuses. After a long back and forth she agrees to come look at chair. The people we were sat with (other tourists) tried to defend us nicely by saying that the chair is dry. They were told to be quiet. We get marched out of the dining room in front of everyone like criminals. - Manager is looking at chair and cannot find damage. She tries to tell us we need to pay anyways (???) but as soon as I explain that we’re not getting tricked into paying and I am in fact a lawyer, not a naive girl, the manager suddenly comes to the conclusion that we don’t need to pay. - We go back into dining room and the staff were behind so rude we felt extremely uncomfortable and felt like we had to leave. Other people in the dining room were picking up on the change too. NEXT - My friend has a gluten intolerance, we emailed in advance and made sure that they would accommodate. They did not. She lived off chips for a week and when we asked staff what has gluten they did not know. Brill. - There’s no snacks between meals (as promised on the website). - The food was often raw. - The rooms weren’t cleaned properly and we had to hunt down cleaners for toilet paper. - Man was watching us through our window and stood on our terrace - where is security? - The staff enter the room to do inspections without your knowledge. - We have a cockroach infestation and have come out with a rash after sleeping in beds To conclude, the staff thought they found an easy target and tried to scam us out of money. Shame as the first few days were nice but it tur

So this was my first holiday abroad with my daughters since 2016, my daughters now 12 and 18, we were very excited only to be met by the rudest female receptionist, she could barely bring herself to speak to us, looked at us like we were something she trod in!!!! we had had a long travelling day and arrived around 2 but our room wasn't ready we were sent to the restaurant, but was not informed of a potential time our room would be ready or even that the pool bar would be open for us to get drinks, we weren't shown to our room and when we we enquired as to when it might be ready, we were informed that she didn't know and the staff would be eating now, the way we were looked at and spoken to by the receptionist was disdainful she was scary and awful - however we did then witness her other side with non-English guests giving them a tour and smiling and being pleasant so we assumed it was because we were English, the female waitress was also very rude - the male staff members were much more pleasant, but the rooms were very clean and the hotel has so much potential to be amazing, the food wasn't great, but with better staff and better food it could be 5 star

Hotel Taimar is clean, modern, calming and excellent value for money. Friendly greeting from reception with an easy check-in. We had a junior suite, all inclusive. Room was beautiful, cleaned every day with fresh towels. Asked for more pillows and they arrived immediately. Food in the restaurant is varied, fresh and caters for all. The pool area is gorgeous with a view over the surrounding areas and mountains. Pool bar is well stocked and the staff will make you cocktails. Also, sangria on tap. The staff are lovely in the restaurant, pool bar and the housekeeping as well. The beach is a 15 minute walk away, the town is the same distance. Beautiful location for anyone wanting a relax and able to find local amenities easily. Pubs, bars, restaurants all within 15 minute walk into the small town. Costa Beach restaurant is beautiful and worth a visit. We rented a car for the day for 55 euros from the company advertised in reception - drove through Jandia and over to Villa winter and coffee beach. Oasis wildlife Park is close with a bus return from the hotel for 5 euro per person. Bus stop close to the hotel to visit the north of the Island, Puerto del Rosario was fantastic. If you want busy, entertainment and simple food, not the place. But if you want a Canadian escape to the beautiful calm, this is perfect. We didn't want to leave.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. It’s the worst place iv ever stayed in the only good thing was the Room was very spacious and clean when we arrived then for a full week we didn’t get bed or towels changed there is no lounge area to sit and have a drink or even to chat to others there is no entertainment at all the food was terrible and lukewarm the restaurant staff if you can call it a restaurant they were lovely but I can honestly say they definitely didn’t cater for British people and are not interested in what you have to say there is absolutely nothing to do outside the hotel no pub / bar you can go sit and enjoy other company or even have a snack I felt that they just didn’t want you there so even if I was offended a week for free I wouldn’t go back
