Grand Teguise Playa

Just returned from a two week all inclusive holiday the the Hotel Grand Teguise Playa. We had been some years ago so it wasn't completely new to us, and it was much as we remembered it. The vast majority of bedrooms have a sea view, and the view from our fourth floor room as superb. The location is excellent overlooking a small beach that has easy access from the hotel grounds. It is in a very central position near to many of the shops and bars. The service from the hotel staff is first class, and Roland in the animation team keeps everyone entertained throughout the day. The only negative that I can think of is that the range of meals in the restaurant, is less than some hotels that we have visited, but that won't stop us returning next year. In fact we met lots of guests who were "returners", many for the 9th or 10th time.

Had an amazing week here at Easter. Lovely hotel with sea view which was beautiful. Food was excellent everyday especially the Spanish & Italian nights. Drinks were branded spirits & included Aperol Spritz. No real need to reserve loungers & one of the main pools was heated which was lovely. The outside bar in the corner had a nice shaded screen which was nice to relax in. We had breakfast & lunch most days outside via the main restaurant. (Tip- sometimes they have lovely English bacon which is almost hidden to the right of the omelette making near some scrambled egg/children’s section) Entertainment is good as is the revolving bar area which makes for a fun evening. Lovely to stroll on the promenade outside the hotel left or right & we went to see the sunrise one morning. Would definitely go back to this beautiful hotel & resort!

What a wonderful hotel, the very best one in the area by far. We arrived earlier than expected and the room wasn’t ready but we were given our wrist bands and told to go to lunch and use the bar. The whole atrium was spectacular it was honestly the most beautiful area I have ever seen inside a hotel being a sub tropical climate it did tend to get a bit hot and muggy on a night but you can put up with that. The rotating bar area was a unique feature but we did hear other people saying they felt drunk when they hadn’t had anything while being on it but we loved it. The location of the hotel was just perfect as it’s right on the beach and the other side is close to the main tourist area which was filled with plenty of bars and restaurants. We paid for a superior room on the fifth floor 523 and the view was marvellous, the only draw back was it did look like the room had had a leak at one time and the laminate and the bottoms of the skirting boards were a bit blown in the hall/bathroom area but it didn’t cause any issues for us at all, it just may need to be repaired before the next season. The rooms are cleaned to a really high standard and the milk replaced each day as are the towels if required. The whole of the hotel is spotlessly clean in every area and it’s not very often you can say that in an honest review. Yes there are still people who put the towels on the loungers first thing in the morning and to be honest the OH did that also after the first few days of having to sit in the shaded area, we did watch to see if anything was removed but they weren’t even when the towels have been down and the owners didn’t show up until later on in the afternoon. Before I comment on the food I need to make a huge shout out to Mar and Carmen in the restaurant who every morning fetched me some gluten free bread, they even added a gluten free mini sponge cake and some cornflakes. Mar especially is a huge asset to the team and really does deserve this shout out. Food, now as stated above I am coeliac and at times the labelling wasn’t always correct especially on the dessert station. Over the years I have learned to stick to protein and salads at mealtimes to ensure I don’t end up with a visit to the hospital.Most of the time I can find enough to make a meal but on a few occasions we had to eat out, breakfasts and lunches were usually fine but the main evening meal did cause a few problems. With so many nationalities and so many people to feed this will always be an issue as you can’t please all of the people all of the time. What I could eat was lovely and it has in no way deterred us from staying with you again. We absolutely loved our stay with you, all of your staff are friendly and helpful but the stand out for me was Mar who went above and beyond and is worth her weight in gold. We so look forward to coming to stay with you again.

Came here with my friend for a girls holiday and overall it was a 10/10 holiday. There’s lots to do in the area and lovely shops across the road. All the staff were the amazing especially belen who we became good friends with by the end of the holiday so thank you to her for being so lovely. The Food was good with different food each night with a few staples like pasta, fries etc. The bar service was amazing all very friendly and our room was perfect. Would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone thinking about staying we would love to come again.

We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean throughout. . Our room was on the top floor right near to the lift, I emailed the hotel for this, which they honoured. Incredible view from our room. The food was the best all inclusive we have ever had. Also the wine at meal times was very palatable. The entertainment was also good. And yes we would return in a flash.

We opted to transfer to this hotel as we had spent the 3 previous nights in a nearby hotel with huge cockroaches in our room. The Grand Teguise Playa saved our holiday and was AMAZING! Our room 328 was pristine and spacious. We loved the food and could always find a sun lounger. Everything was close by and we really enjoyed the entertainment at the hotel. We have amended a holiday already booked for this time next year in Teguise, to stay at this hotel again. Thank you to all the hard working staff who made our recent holiday so enjoyable.

Booked Sea View nice Balcony on third Floor. We were allinclusive. Food is a big let down here. Pork , pork and more Pork Poor quality cheap cuts of Meat. Salad Bar limited choice desert bar not much better glad we ate out .Staff in restaurant ran off there feet. You have to get down early for a Table. On our first night We only Seats left was Green broken couch. You have to pay extra if you want Name Cocktails . Reception are not as helpful as some other Hotels. We had such high expectations before we arrived seeing the Hotel videos. But, felt let down. Plus side is revolving Bar Views if you book a Sea View. My last Day we sat near the Door and I could see running over the Cups Cockroaches I told the Staff and they shrugged it off , I then told Reception who replied its like Spiders in your Country.

Here is my honest review about my first time at this hotel on an AI package. Positives: *********** - amazing location, close to everything, bars, shops, beach. The pools are clean and lovely! - we stayed in a superior double room and the view was breathtaking - the BEST thing about this hotel is the decor - the pond, the rotating bar, the botanical scenery, it's honestly the best one I've seen so far. It made me wanna stay inside every night instead of going out. Loved it!!! - live entertainment was good, I was impressed by the quality; other hotels I've been to had really disappointing acts - compared to other hotels I stayed, the food was delicious!! It actually tasted good, you know? even the desserts were good, unlike other places I stayed and all tasted the same. Well done to the chefs and restaurant staff there who are catering for hundreds of people every day and work tirelessly. - the evening drinks in Bar Alisios are superb - especially the cocktails - good quality. - restaurant staff is super polite, friendly, and I never waited more than 2 minutes (on the clock) to get served at lunch or dinner time. - very clean all around Negatives: ___________ - the evening bar staff from Bar Alisios were quite sarcastic and arrogant. It really put me off going to order drinks. - the bed itself is uncomfortable in my opinion, I couldn't get a decent sleep in 7 days - I needed water in the room and I wasn't allowed to take any, they said it's only one bottle when you arrive and that's it which was a bit shocking. In the lobby they say they have water fountains I couldn't see any? I ended up drinking from the tap, wasnt a major issue but if I am on an AI package I assume it's not a big deal topping up the water bottles when they clean the room. - Music at the pool. It does not exist! They only play music on a portable speaker at Aqua Gym for 1 hour. The atmosphere is so good when music is on so I was sad to see how we sat in silence after the activity was over. Again, personal preference (but I saw other people bringing their speakers and playing music near the sunbeds which makes me think they have the same opinion) Overall it was a nice stay, I would return!
