Marine Hotel

This place is a dump don’t waste your money you will be totally unimpressed.the outside doesn’t look anything live advertised. The rooms resemble something from the seventies and the lady at the so called reception has the personality of a wet rag

We spent two nights here. Having booked a deluxe room I expected so much more. The positives were that the room looked recently renovated and it was clean. There was a good selection of teas and coffees, with biscuits for one night. TV and WiFi worked well. The negatives are that only one bed side light, we discovered that the reason for this was because the plug sockets don't work. The ensuite was very small, sink back flows over toilet paper and floor, didn't sleep due to bright light coming through large gaps in door frame, no hair dryer, no bin in room, no mirror in room - couldn't dry my hair, no wardrobe - just some hooks with coat hangers, no drawers or anywhere to put anything, room not serviced at all - which meant we couldn't have a cup of tea second evening/morning. We did try to find someone for extra supplies but couldn't find anyone, same for check out so left key in door. In fact didn't really see anyone through out stay. No info in room - including no fire escape instructions/ WiFi code ( had to ask)/local information/ hotel facilities. Communal areas very tired. Did have seaview but through BT wires etc down a back alley so not great, maybe a room at front would have been better. We paid £252 for two nights!! I usually look for the good ( see my previous reviews) and always try to see the positives. Really struggled with this one!!!

Called in for a drink, great welcome from John, still in the process of re furbishment, but think it will be lovely when done shown to room number 1 Family room sleeps 3 . Looked lovely Good luck to you on the work and the proposed seafood restaurant all ingredients locally sourced

The owners have done an excellent job of breathing life into this wonderful Hotel. The pillows are fluffy, the rooms are immaculate and the views of the Castle and the Sea are spectacular, added by the warm and friendly managers, who run the bar and the rooms to an exceptional standard who cannot do enough for you it really doesn’t get much better than this. Thank you for making our Holiday so Special we will definitely be back soon. 10 out of 10 Highly recommended!!!
