The hospitality was the best we’ve experienced, Gill and David were great hosts. The atmosphere was really warm and cosy. We got a King room and it was clean and comfy. David helped me and my girlfriend pick out a hiking route and even offered to pick us up in an emergency!

Fab hosts, fab service, fab food - this place was an absolute gem and would recommend, we would definitely stay again As a small business they have a well documented local supply chain which provides an impressive range of local food and other services which were all great as well And Saturday is baking day!! Fantastic carrot cake but they bake a whole range of other goodies too If you can - visit!!

I had a fantastic Easter long weekend at Tŷ Mawr Country Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts who really went out of their way to make me feel welcome, and help me with my luggage to my room. The ensuite room had a lovely comfortable bed and sofa, and a dressing gown and toiletries are provided. The breakfast was great and freshly prepared. If you are looking for a special weekend away I can highly recommend Tŷ Mawr - thank you for a lovely stay.

A two night break including a birthday. Very friendly owners and staff. Enjoyed two dinners with good choice. Very good Evan Evans Wrecker beer. Comfortable twin beds. Ideal location for scenery and local attractions. Highly recommended.

One of our group of four said this place was “A little gem” and I said that it was more like “A large gem”. The food, by Gill, was FAB-U-LOUS, and David was great at front of house, both assisted by their team. The Sunday lunch was the best I have ever eaten (excluding my wife's) and the evening meals were wonderful also. Rooms were well apointed, even a torch supplied for night time walks. To cap it all was their Golden retriever, Busta, who made himself known to everyone. Like to think that we will be back later this year.

Ty Mawr is an undiscovered gem set in the middle of the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. Stepping across the threshold we were given a very warm welcome and made to feel at home. We had come a fair distance so the offer of a cup of tea and a slice of Bara brith was well received by two thirsty travellers! The hotel is very clean and the rooms generous in size. The highpoint though is the restaurant. We were served the most delicious, locally sourced food with fabulous homemade bread. I suggest that you go soon and enjoy a restful stay.

What a lovely warm welcome we had ! On arrival we were offered coffee or tea and homemade Bara Brith , and we sat by a cosy fire and chatted with other guests. A large bedroom , dog friendly , with everything we could wish for. Slept like babies in a very large bed. Breakfast was plentiful with a great selection to choose from. We had a two night stay , and had Tapas on both evenings . Good choice and very tasty. The Saturday morning cake/ savoury sale , a regular event, was a huge hit. And it was great to meet some of the locals , who were quick to recommend their favourite picks. Most helpful. It’s a lovely area to stay in , with lots of walks close by. But we went to Ty Mawr to chill , and that’s certainly what we did. Thank you all , for making our stay so relaxing . We hope to see you all again soon.

We stayed here last weekend (couple plus 1yr old dog). Our first experience in a dog friendly hotel. David welcomed us in the most cosiest of settings as you enter the building. We were upgraded to the beautiful ground floor apartment which made it much easier for the middle of night toilet activity of our 1yr old dalmatian. It was my partners birthday on the day of our arrival and David kindly left us a bottle of prosecco and a hand written card which made it feel even more personal and welcoming. All the guests were incredibly friendly and the pub in the village was also as welcoming and cosy. We stayed for dinner of tapas which was incredibly filling and enjoyable. Great access to the surrounding countryside for walks. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when in the area whether with dog or not.
