"Great food good service and friendly staff. I only stayed 1 night on a tour of Devon and Somerset. Creaky floor and bed but it just gave more atmosphere. Would have given 5* but bathroom ceiling needs attention and repainting. Also generator going meant a bit of noise. Under £100.00 for room 3 course dinner & breakfast."

"We returned recently to this wonderfull Establishment and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay Andy and Tania warmly welcomed us and continued to make us feel valued throughout our stay. Our room was large, had many useful quality touches and furnishings plus beautiful views. The choice and quality of the breakfasts were perfect plus delicious. The views and location are both beautiful and relaxing, all making for a memorable stay."

The Royal Oak Exmoor

"We received a very warm welcome from our hosts. We were staying in the cottage next door for the weekend so it was a very convenient location to go for a drink or for a meal. We had dinner on the Friday night which was lovely with plenty of choice. They kept the kitchen open as we were late arriving for which we were very grateful. We also had Sunday lunch which was amongst the best I’ve ever eaten. It’s a lovely pub and also has rooms so would be very happy to stay there next time"

"Another enjoyable evening meal at the Lorna Doone restaurant. I now always make sure to pre-book to avoid disappointment; it's easy enough to do. Staff are always welcoming and helpful and the little dining room is very cosy. This time I had a glass of delicious Merlot with the Cajun chicken, which was tasty and just at the perfect side of spicy for me. Previously I enjoyed the Lamb Three Ways and the slow cooked beef ribs. I didn't intend to have pudding, but opted again for the rhubarb & ginger affair... My companions also love the Lamb, but this time had the Saltimbocca, which they really enjoyed."

Exmoor House

"I try to visit every year with my wife, in years past we have visited exmoor twice a year! however, this time I chose Exmoor House, as it was an ideal location, and I was very impressed with the photo's of the rooms. Well they do not give it justice, it was spotless everwhere, Peter and Izzy were perfects hosts, and very friendly , and tried to accomodate all our requests, we stayed seven nights! words cannot describe how much we enjoyed the location and breakfasts, and an added bonus Eric the owner of The Rest and Be Thankful opposite, where we had Sunday lunch and an evening meal, was a friendly and excellent host, we will stay again next year, as we look ahead to our holiday abroad."
