What can we say about Gellifawr? We'd been there a few times for our friends wedding years ago before all the alterations and the place was magical then, which is why it was easy choice when it came to picking our wedding venue. Fast forward to our day (not anyone else's). We had such a fabulous time, we chose to marry on the Friday as we had a lot of family and friends traveling from all over the British Isles and with all the accommodation space with the cottages it would be perfect. The Thursday night there was over 40 of the wedding party that stayed and we organised for our guests to enjoy a pie and chips night. The food was fantastic and I wished I'd had more had it not been for needing to fit into my dress the next day. Friday came and it was everything we'd wished for, again the food (sparkling afternoon tea and then pizza and wedges for the evening) was fantastic. The weather was just perfect so we were able to have the whole day outside, which just enabled everyone to have a chilled relaxed day, filled with laughs and plenty of drinks. Emma and the wedding team were extremely accommodating all the way through, down to the littlest details which actually weren't little (how we came down the aisle) even up until the end when we got back to our room to find they'd remembered to put the fan in our room, as the previous night it had been so hot. We'd just like to say again a huge thank you to Gellifawr and the team for making our day one we will definitely not forget...TY xx

Our wedding was September 2nd 2023 and it was perfect! The whole team were amazing and made the day everything we had imagined. The housekeeping team were so lovely, and came with me to drop gift bags in each cottage and hotel room (and helped me correct them when I got confused!). We had to make some last minute changes and the team took everything in their stride - they changed the table plan for us, set up the table centrepieces, and set up our cake of cheese and made it look SO beautiful. They let my now husband stay in a spare room for the Friday night, and re-made it ready for our guest arriving on the Saturday, and were so happy to accommodate. Our wedding coordinators were so friendly, supportive, and reassuring - they were so great with all the kids and the dogs. The food was great, so tasty and we got SO many compliments on it. The kitchen accommodated all our food intolerances (including a really unusual one), and made an amazing vegetarian spread especially for our wedding. We had so many mad ideas (a treasure hunt for the kids, dogs delivering rings, walking down the aisle together, homemade decorations etc) and Gellifawr made every single one possible and perfect. We cannot recommend them enough and we cannot thank them enough.

Gelliefawr was a wonderful place to celebrate our wedding with our friends and family. Made the day and evening very special. Staff were absolutely amazing and so helpful throughout our planning and on the day. Food was out of this world. Couldn't have wished for a better wedding venue to celebrate our day.

I was at Gellifawr Woodland Retreat for my daughters wedding this weekend 7th October 2023. After 2 years of planning we arrived at the venue to a fantastic welcome by the staff and Emma the wedding planner. Nothing was too much trouble and anything we asked for was provided. It is a beautiful venue and I would always recommend it for anyone who is planning a wedding. All of the staff were polite and organised. I would like to mention Cosmo from the bar on the Friday and Saturday who was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for him. The food: We arrived on Friday and we had booked to have an evening meal and everyone who had food was really impressed with the choice of food and the quality of it. The breakfast on the Saturday morning was a full buffet breakfast and all the guests were really pleased. The bridal party were in a separate salon to get ready and were provided with bacon and sausage bagettes along with prosecco and orange juice which was my daughters request but you can also have pasties and muffins if requested. The groom and groomsmen have a separate grooms room that we called the mancave and they were provide with some beers and also food. All of this was really appreciated. After the ceremony there were welcome drinks and canapes which were delicious especially the pork tacos !!! The wedding breakfast was absolutely delicious, there were 3 choices whic were chosen beforehand. Everything was very well organised as the waiters and waitresses knew who was having what without asking. The buffet in the evening looked fantastic. The whole weekend was absolutely fantastic and the grounds were wonderful, I cannot praise and thank everyone enough for everything to make my daughters wedding everything that she wanted.

Well, what can I say. We got married on 09/09/23 and we booked it two year prior. From day 1, emily and the team have been fantastic. Answering every little question I had and nothing was too much. I had Emma as my day-of coordinator and she was an absolute blessing. Every little thing was thought of and they had everything in hand. We had planned to have everything indoors as usually that time of year the weather is rubbish, but last minute asked to put the evening outside and within 10 minutes it was all set up, ready to go. They even informed our suppliers to set up outside which was really handy. The food was 100000/10. Everyone complimented the food and said how delicious it was, especially the evening food, hog roast with salad. The rooms and cottages were in fab condition and even the breakfast the next morning was top notch. Thank you Emily, Emma and the team. You made our day unforgettable and we have had constant compliments on how gorgeous the venue was and how amazing the staff were. If we could do it all over again, we would do it in a heartbeat. Gellifawr hosted our wedding this August. It was the most magical day and we can’t thank the hotel staff and wedding team enough. They were so helpful from day 1 of arranging the date and throughout. Absolutely amazing!

I came here for a friend's wedding in August 23 and couldn't get over how lovely a place it was, and the staff were so organised and welcoming. When we arrived at the bridal salon, we were greeted with an ice bucket of prosecco, martini and orange juice plus around 8 glasses which was a nice touch. There's also a mini fridge, kettle and a selection of teas and coffees, also 2 steamers which really came in handy. The only thing I will point out is that there's no shower, we almost didn't shower before arriving so figured I'd better point this out just incase. Shortly after arriving a member of staff came to see us, to make sure we had everything we needed and checked on us throughout the day, ensuring things were OK and we had a complimentary breakfast which was lovely. The room also had charging sockets for mobiles phones and plug sockets, so bringing things like straighteners or a hair dryer isn't a problem. The only other thing I will say is make sure before your ceremony everything is packed together back into your bags/cases, as we did find all of our stuff had been put into the grooms suite upon our return, if we'd had known we had to have our stuff out of there by a certain time we would have packed everything ready so we wasn't looking through our stuff half way through the day to make sure we had everything. The ceremony itself and the whole day infact went without a hitch, you could tell how professionally organised the staff were throughout the day, from setting everything up and the timings of everything too. For our stay we opted to stay in one of the cottages, the cottage we were given had stairs leading upto it, so I strongly suggest if you have mobility issues, let them know as I know some are on the ground floor (friends who were next door were on the ground floor). The cottage itself was pretty basic looking, but quite spacious. You could easily spend a few days there as it did come with near enough everything kitchen wise you would need (obviously you would need to bring your own food, but that's a given 😉). There's enough towels in the bedroom and bathroom for 2 people, but I'm sure if you ask they could provide more if needed and the bathroom as a bath with a built in shower, again this is cottage dependant as our friends said theirs only had a shower. Only downside I would say about the cottage, is that the quilts on the bed don't have covers on, I don't know if they were forgotten or of that's the way it was but for only one night it wasn't an issue, though did find it very cold in the middle of the night. At one point I did go upto the bridal suite in the actual hotel part, sadly both myself, the bride, groom and brides mother all agreed that it wasn't very nice at all, everything was black from the walls to the drawers with just a splash of gold on the walls, it looked almost gothic which wasn't really in keeping with the rest of the retreat a

We attended a wedding here August 2023 and the venue is in a beautiful location but there are a few things that let it down and would put me off attending weddings here in future unless changes were made. We checked in to one of the rooms in the main hotel. It was dated, grubby marks on the walls, paint chipping off on all the window sills and the shower made the most horrendous noise when being used and being £140 per night, you’d expect so much more for your money. The ceremony room is beautiful and bright but it was extremely hot inside. The men in their suits were sweating profusely and were extremely uncomfortable. Then moving to the reception room which was again very bright and pleasant to look at but was extremely hot inside. No doors or windows were opened due to the awful bad weather and as the evening progressed, it got hotter and hotter and got to a point it was too uncomfortable to sit in there. It wasn’t a big wedding we attended so I could imagine it being so much worse with a lot more people dancing around. The main bug bear I have, is the horrific prices they charge for drinks! It’s crazy London city prices for a small Pembrokeshire countryside and I just think it’s complete greed and ripping people off as they have no choice but to pay it. £7.40 for a pint of Cider, £2.20 for a small half of lemonade and £10.20 for a Gin and Tonic!! I think the drink prices need to be re looked at as this encourages people to bring their own alcohol. I wish I did! As I said, it’s a lovely venue but majorly needs an update in the rooms, air conditioning installed and they definitely need to rethink their extortionate drink prices to be a bit more fair in the current climate.
