"Excellent stay at this brand new establishment! . The rooms were wonderful and spacious offering a Cozy bed was also a huge plus!! . The staff was highly efficient, accommodating and true examples of exceptional service. . The food was ok. We didn't experience the breakfast buffet since there were very few guest, so this was totally understandable. They didn't miss ANYTHING on this one and spared not one amenity. From energy efficiency, luxury accommodations and beautiful decor. I recommend Sama for your visit to Almadies Dakar."

"Upon arrival one is met with a barricaded entrance and security people who yell at you that you must walk from the car park area. Doesn't matter how much luggage you have, the entrance cannot be entered and you must walk from the car park. By the way, the car park is dark and possibly not safe. When I asked at reception why they do this - it's for "security"... ??? Check in was as if they had never done it before. Rooms are OK, but coffee and water are not replenished. Toilet leaked. Food left me deathly ill. Meeting facilities are miles away. Gym is mostly closed - at least at times like early morning when someone would want to use it. Restaurant service was reasonably friendly but food was bad. Breakfast was completely inedible. No signage, so no idea how to get around the place. Banquet room had very little a/c. Overall the place and the staff are old and tired and clearly the management looks only at the cost and does nothing with customers or service in mind. It's a great location, but would need to be torn down and rebuilt and re-staffed before I'd consider staying again."

"Liked · Oasis from Dakar in general. We were forced by cancelled flights to stay here another 2 nights, and were lucky enough to get a room. Great staff, always helping us. Breakfast was especially good. We like the room, really liked the bathroom. Rooftop restaraunt was great, food was good, the place had atmosphere also. Disliked · Nothing. Location was a bit meh, but no big deal"

"I really loved my stay at L’Adresse. The entire staff was so friendly. Especially Thierry, the excellent server at the rooftop restaurant. That restaurant was so nice, you can sit in the sun and look out over the ocean. The airport shuttle was very nice. And the hotel is close to a mosque and the Embassy of Guinea for onward travel. The hotel is great!"

"A truly wonderful accommodation experience! The environment and facilities were excellent, and the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and patient. There was also an adorable big cat! From check-in, Mr. Doudou was a huge help, reminding me of important things to be aware of, which is crucial for anyone visiting Senegal or even Africa for the first time! I also broke the customs lock on my suitcase, and the receptionist quickly resolved the issue. The security staff were also very responsible and helpful; I'm very grateful for their assistance. The hotel facilities were very comfortable; simply relaxing by the pool was pure bliss. Overall, it was an absolutely perfect experience, and I'm so grateful to have met such patient friends on my first trip to Africa. However, the Wi-Fi in the poolside rooms wasn't very good."

"A nice spot of paradise among the chaos of dakars hustle and bustle. Amongst the higher end experiences price wise it is somewhere worth visiting alone for the comfort and accommodation of the team at Boma lifestyle hotel and attached YouYou restaurant. Fantastic atmosphere on weekends which are great for a cocktail as well as great food options that accommodate somewhat towards a European pallet for those not looking to stray to far from home. My girlfriend who is from cameroon recommends the Mafe for more traditional flavours where, I had the Yassa Poulet which would suit many visitors with is rich onion base. For those looking for a comforting European touch any of the pizza options will suit alongside a cold pint of gazelle. Utilise this hotel as a resting place to visit such sites as Ngor, goree island, the African renaissance monument, the pink lake, sandaga, and nearby visit the surfers paradise at hotel virag for some chilled entertainment of local and foreign surfers alike. For a nice meal that touches several west and central African pallets head to maison B. Exceptional hospitality alongside fantastic food, cocktails and shisha all at an affordable budget. For pastries head to Graines d'or a five minute walk from the hotel. And also head to happy Happy Hour & Degustation across from Jgo and maison B and see what cameroonian meals are on offer alongside some drinks an socialising with their owner. The petrol station next door provides a variety of snacks and beverages including cheap alcohol and a cash machine."

Hôtel Fleur de Lys Point E

"Great location for exploring the local landscape off a quieter side street not far from the University campus. Dakar's open sewer is not a good idea; it pollutes the air, ruining your walking experience, and there were stagnant pools of water on the frontage, along with trash cans that have seen better days. The atmosphere is dead quiet in the rooms, a huge plus because the outside is busy and can get loud. I stayed on the 4th floor; the room was large. I love the high ceilings. The mattress was perfect, and sleep quality immaculate. The carpet had seen better days. Cleanliness was wanting; roaches were creeping in from the drain. A fumigation should be done — because the rooms are good. The carpet from the lift was not clean; it was damaged in spots. There was hair from the cleaner left on the floor of the bathroom. A big bonus is the rooftop pool; the temperature is right with 360 views. The gym has amazing potential because of the view of Dakar on 8th floor, but the windows are dirty and spoil the experience. Poolside cleanliness was also not good. Breakfast was adequate; coffee was below expectations. The food and drink are quite pricey. Fleur de Lys Point E is a mix of highs and lows."
