Space Capsule Hostel Árblik by Welcome Iceland
"Great new place. Very unique experience - have never slept in a pod like that. Super cosy. Showers very spacious and new, huge kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking. Helpful staff."
Sauðafell Guesthouse ★★
Dalakot Búdardal ★★
"We enjoyed lunch at Dalakot, which included a chicken salad, two lamb dishes as well as a pizza, all reasonably priced compared to the rest of Iceland! The lamb was among the best we had in Iceland, and the other dishes also hit the mark. Dalakot is a great recommended place to eat if you are in the area!"
Vogur Country Lodge ★★★
"Hotel in the middle of nowhere away from everything with several dozen miles of gravel road. It is still a very nice hotel, however, with large rooms, very friendly reception and good restaurant. Breakfast maybe not very varied"
Mystic Light Lodge ★★★★★
"An absolutely magical stay on the bay in Eastern Iceland — easily one of the most memorable cabins we stayed in during our trip. The location is simply spectacular. Waking up to seals swimming in the water and then lazing along the shore right in front of the cabin felt almost surreal. It’s the kind of place where you could happily spend hours just looking out at the bay and watching the wildlife go by. The cabin itself was beautifully designed, cosy and exceptionally well equipped. The hosts had thought of so many little details that elevated the stay — from good-quality cookware and a well-stocked kitchenette to spices, pasta and rice in the pantry, luxurious Icelandic herbal teas, a generous selection of Nespresso capsules and welcome chocolates waiting for us on arrival. These thoughtful touches made it feel far more like a boutique retreat than simply a cabin stay. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and despite its compact size, the kitchenette and washroom were thoughtfully designed and completely functional. We especially loved the telescope provided for wildlife spotting — such a brilliant addition given the incredible surroundings. And, of course, the sunroof was a highlight in itself. There is something incredibly special about lying in bed and looking up at the Icelandic sky (would be amazing during Aurora season)! Peaceful, intimate and surrounded by nature, yet with all the comforts you could ask for. Between the seals at our doorstep, the beautiful bay views and all the thoughtful details inside, this was a truly special Icelandic stay and one we would return to in a heartbeat."
Ravencliff Lodge ★★
"This cabin was really tiny. The “kitchen”was almost unusable with only a single hot plate and a microwave to “cook” . There was almost no bench space to prepare a meal. The fridge is a “bar” size which was adequate. There was no coffee pot for the coffee machine and no filter paper of coffee anyway even if we had of found the coffee pot to use it. There was instant coffee and a kettle. There was minimal cutlery and crockery (no spoon to stir food or serve food) and one of the only two coffee cups was badly cracked and chipped. The kitchen sink was so small you could not physically wash anything in it. We had to wash the cooking dishes in the bathroom sink and even then that was difficult. The bathroom was adequate but again very small. There was one double bed punched up against the wall and a small table with two chairs. There was barely space to put any suit cases. We left most of our items in our car. For the price this was very poor value. After traveling in Iceland for 16 days and staying in other guest houses and cabins and paying a similar price we felt this was over priced for what you got."
Dalahótel ★★★
"Hotel does not include breakfast"
Dalahyttur ★★★
"Incredible views from the balcony. Breakfast was great. Felt secluded and was one of our favourite places in Iceland"
Seljaland ferðaþjónusta ★★
"There is a road about 7 kilometers or so that the road is a bit difficult to open. You need to wear clothes at night when you go to another place to go to the bathroom. The kitchen equipment is limited. Staying for 2 nights is OK. thanks."
