We loved our stay in this great hotel. The staff couldn’t do more to help - especially Hui and Wei - thanks so much for all your help. Breakfast is lovely and great to have free laundry facilities at the hotel. The setting is really lovely, as are the rooms and we had great fun dressing up - also free as part of your stay!

The hotel is on itself one of the most beautiful sceneries of the city. Breakfast is great. People are super helpful and they have a good translation system in place. Very convenient to walk to the Ancient Town as well.

The hotel's location is excellent; no need to drag your luggage over cobblestones. The manager and staff are very thoughtful, even adding me on WeChat beforehand to advise on the best drop-off point for a taxi. The rooms are clean and hygienic. The mattress is a bit inferior to a standard hotel's, leaving my back unsupported when I sleep, but it's a unique guesthouse, so it's understandable. The pillows are just the right height, not too high to cause neck pain. The hotel itself is very distinctive, with traditional Bai ethnic decor that's quite stylish. The lobby at night is stunning, completely reminiscent of the movie Spirited Away. The extensive use of wooden furniture gives the hotel a rustic feel. Although some guests smoke, we were fortunate to get a room with no smoke smell. Breakfast offers a choice of rice noodles, regular noodles, or congee, with fixed side dishes. Dali's transportation is generally poor, and tourist spots are notorious for overcharging. This hotel, however, was a highlight for me. If you absolutely must visit Dali, staying at this hotel to relax and unwind is actually more enjoyable and less stressful than going to see Cangshan and Erhai Lake.

The environment here is absolutely top-notch, with an incredible ambiance. It's so antique and picturesque, truly inspiring. The tea room also boasts a fantastic setting. And the breakfast? Super exquisite. I told my friends, if rice wasn't a factor, I'd stay here for a whole month! As for the service, the owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. They thoughtfully explained the local routes, kindly helped with our luggage, and even surprised us with a souvenir. This place is definitely highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights here. It’s in walking distance to Dali old town. While it was a bit hidden, it was nice and quiet. The most beautiful hotel we‘ve been to, with the cutest courtyard imaginable and the amazing atmosphere from the lovely interior, taking you back to ancient times any moment you enter the hotel. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was tasty. Very accommodating staff and special thanks to Xiao Deng and Xiao Yang who were incredibly helpful, with booking us the cable car up to Ximatan. We‘d definitely come to stay again!

The hotel is very unique. They gave us a free room upgrade, and the location is excellent. There are tons of great restaurants right outside, and it's easy to catch a taxi. You can explore Dali Old Town anytime, and the service was attentive.

I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin. Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth. They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead. The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed. Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating.

Really good location at the edge of the ancient city, allows for easy access. The hotel is as beautiful as the photos look, if not more. Nice breakfast is included. Xiao Yue and Xiao Deng were very helpful and the service was great.

Lovely hotel in the middle of the ancient Dali town. Busy and buzzy surroundings but lovely calm space. Staff were helpful, in particular Xiaohui and Xiao Deng. Room was as shown in the pictures.

The hotel has a charming, antique style, and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast was also unique and delicious. The service attitude was excellent, making for a fantastic experience overall!

Great location and amazing atmosphere. First time in life we spent our free time behind the hotel room and not inside. This is a good sign.

The Spirited Silky Inn is a very special place right next to the buzzy area of the ancient town of Dali. Around the hotel are all kinds of (street) food, shopping, entertainment and sightseeing options, but the hotel itself is a place of tranquility. The staff is always there with a helping hand and recommendations for restaurant or any other options. Highlight is as well the ancient dressing offer with a professional photographer (additional fees apply) taking pictures in the classic courtyard of the hotel. For us a top choice for stays in Dali!

The service and ambiance were absolutely top-notch! The staff and front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. What really touched me was that even though I only stayed for one day, they gave me a local specialty as a gift when I checked out.
