Dali Old City Sushe Boutique Inn (Dali Old City Pedestrian Street Store)

First off, the owners of this boutique inn really go above and beyond for their customers. They are some of the nicest people we've met in China and our kids loved them. They were always available to talk to, to help us and to suggest activities. They even helped with our luggage from the street. The breakfast was traditional Chinese style and was different every day. They also gave a plate of fried eggs every day and they were cooked spectacularly. My words can't do they justice to how delicious they were 🤣 The millet porridge and youtiao were also very good. There was more than enough for a hearty and decent breakfast! The grounds of the inn are beautiful, proper ancient style and it is very nice to relax by the fish pond at night with a glass of wine or a bottle of Dali beer (a very kind gift). The roof top offers seating and excellent mountain and town views and it's a good place to sit with your own thoughts and take in some mountain air! There is a washing machine and washing lines to do laundry as well as indoor and outdoor seating on each floor of the inn. It's a small and cosy building but you never feel like you don't have your own space. Because it is an old inn, the soundproofing is not the best, but this is to be expected as we didn't book a traditional hotel. As long as you have considerate neighbours, the poor soundproofing is not an issue and can add to the charm of the place. Water bottles are provided whenever you need them, which is very convenient and welcome. We were also able to borrow the e-bikes so we could explore the local area and the lake at our own leisure. This was a fantastic addition to the stay and it gave us some precious memories and photographs from places which would otherwise be unreachable. The room was perfect. It was clean and spacious. All the things needed are present or can be provided for by the Host. The host’s hospitality is a thing to return for. Hotel is located in the central part of Ancient city. Near it one can find large supermarket, a number of restaurants with cuisine adopted to foreigners (in case one has hard time tolerating spicy or fatty food) and a number of souvenir shops. I would definitely stay here again once I return

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They kindly upgraded us to a larger room, helped us carry our luggage, and the housekeeping service was excellent throughout our stay. One of the things we loved most was the relaxing atmosphere. There are beautiful seating areas throughout the property, including a lovely rooftop seating area with a wonderful view. The hotel also has a laundry room on the second floor, which was very convenient. As Muslim travelers, we found the breakfast to be a good option. It included eggs, coffee, tea, regular bread, fried bread, and fresh vegetables, which worked well for us. The location is excellent. Everything is within walking distance, including a supermarket, a fantastic bakery, and a beautiful café. The hotel owner is exceptionally kind, elegant, and genuinely cares about her guests. She was always happy to help with anything we needed, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We also received a free pick-up service from the train station because we booked a stay of three nights, which was a thoughtful bonus. We would definitely stay here again without any hesitation and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dali.
