Jiatu Scenic Hotel (Dali Erhai Park Railway Station)

The views are expansive, and Erhai Lake is right across the street. It's very convenient, and there's coffee too.

The large floor-to-ceiling window offers a direct view of the lake, providing an expansive and soothing panorama. The room is clean and tidy, and the bed is soft and comfortable. You can simply sit by the window and quietly admire the lake and distant mountains. Overall, it's good value for money, and staying here really helps you relax. Highly recommended.

The room was quite spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the road, and the Erhai Lake just beyond the road. If you don't close the curtains, the view is actually pretty good (just ignore the passersby outside). The facilities were quaint and minimalist. The bathroom was all glass, with frosted glass covering the 'key' areas, which was a little inconvenient. The rooftop terrace has a fantastic view, and there's a swing and a bar, perfect for enjoying the sea breeze – very romantic.

The room's sea view was amazing. The hotel staff were very friendly and proactively helped with luggage. The lobby offered 24-hour tea and coffee, and bottled water was freely available.

First, the service was just okay. Although there's no elevator to the fifth floor, the front desk helped with the luggage (which I consider to be standard service, as that's what service staff should do). Secondly, the environment. If you're solely focused on the view, it's absolutely stunning (as shown in picture 2). However, I must warn couples or anyone with high privacy requirements: I booked the 'Top View Seaview' room, room number 502 (I assume this is the room type it refers to), and the balcony outside this room (which is actually a rooftop terrace) is PUBLIC! People from all the lower floors can come up and use it. Plus, the balcony and the room are only separated by a single pane of glass? The soundproofing was decent, but this balcony isn't exclusively yours like in other room types. Yet, the adjacent room, 501, has a private balcony (I don't know the name of 501's room type). Why is that? And why isn't such an important detail clearly stated in the room type name? What's the point of a fancy name if it's misleading? In short, this is something to seriously consider. Then there are the facilities, which I can only describe as terrible. There's nowhere to eat, and the rooftop only has one table with one chair (as shown in picture 1). When I asked the staff, they said there were no more chairs. What exactly are you going to do with one chair? Isn't this room type meant for two people? What are you going to do with one chair, tell me? One person has to stand to eat? I'm on vacation, and I have to stand to eat? Also, for drying clothes, there is indeed a clothes rack on the rooftop, but it's completely exposed. Have you been operating a hotel in Dali for so long and not realized how erratic the weather is here? An outdoor clothes rack means I have to stay in and not go out, guard my clothes 24/7 waiting for sunny weather to bring them out, and then rush to bring them in when it rains, right? I asked if there was anywhere else to dry clothes, and they said no. How hard is it to build a small sheltered area specifically for drying clothes on the top floor? Finally, the cleanliness. I have no complaints here; the hygiene was indeed very good. Someone cleaned the room every day, and the water bottles were refilled. The toilet in the bathroom was even disinfected, and the gargle cups were sparkling. Thumbs up to the cleaning staff.
