We had a great view of the light show from our room, and Xinghai Square is right downstairs, which made traveling with a kid so convenient. The hotel provided a complimentary rollaway bed and even gifted a cute little plush seal to my child. The beef noodles at breakfast were delicious too. All in all, Grand Hyatt will definitely be our go-to choice next time we visit Dalian.

The view outside the window was absolutely stunning, and the location was perfect – the beach was right downstairs. However, the room's facilities were outdated and the hygiene was subpar; I was shocked by how dirty the bedside speaker was when I picked it up. The curtains let in some light at night. The air conditioning had issues, constantly blowing cold air. When I called, they said setting it to 'f0' would turn it off, but even after doing that, it still blew air. I was so cold at night that I even pulled out the key card, but the air still kept blowing. I had to huddle under the covers and make do for the night.

The hotel is located right next to Xinghai Square. From the room, you can see the sea and the bridge, and the elevator lobby offers a view of Xinghai Square. The executive lounge only serves drinks, and as it got later, the staff seemed less than enthusiastic.

I can understand that the facilities are on the older side, but the handprints on the ocean-view window were really off-putting. And the way the bed was made left me speechless—are bedsheets usually tucked in this sloppily? I wasn't a fan of the fruit either; it was just a massive apple, a pear, and a kiwi that you had to hold and gnaw on. The drawer under the bathroom sink had a lot of sawdust in it. I'm not here to nitpick, nor do I want to take photos of dirty spots. Anyway, it's peak season, so high rates are expected, but the stay was honestly very mediocre.

An absolute disaster, even worse than the experience at an all-season hotel. On the first day of my stay, hygiene issue number one: obvious stains on the pillow. The replacement pillowcase was even dirtier. (It felt like there was no inspection whatsoever and the hygiene quality control was terrible). On the first day of my stay, hygiene issue number two: various uncleaned handles with clear fingerprints and water stains. On the first day of my stay, hygiene issue number three: the table was dirty and completely un-wiped. On the first day of my stay, service issue number one: checked in at noon, returned in the evening to collect the room card. Interacted with the front desk twice, and received no information about hotel facilities, dining, or surrounding attractions. On the first day of my stay, service issue number two: booked two rooms hoping for them to be on the same floor. When asked, the only response was a dismissive 'Hehe, they're not on the same floor,' and that was the end of it. On the first day of my stay, service issue number three: after 10 PM, the call success rate for contacting guest services and the housekeeping center was less than 30%. Lack of attention to facility maintenance issue number one: the toilet lid wouldn't open fully, getting stuck halfway. After using the toilet, for about half an hour, extra water would gurgle out periodically. Lack of attention to facility maintenance issue number two: in the other room, the air conditioner barely cooled, and the ventilation function was extremely weak. At the restaurant breakfast, the chopsticks were covered in white fluff. Even when there weren't many people in the morning, there was no proper reception. On the second day of my stay, a huge vacuum cleaner stood in the hallway all night long. The curtains provided very poor blackout, with gaps at the edges and difficult to adjust manually. Supplement: The auntie who changed the bedding on the first day was clearly overwhelmed (but still had a good attitude). The replacement bedding also had hygiene issues, but I couldn't reach guest services or housekeeping by phone, so there was no chance to discuss it. I just had to put up with it. You're welcome for this super long review; you deserve it.

Every stay at the Grand Hyatt has been a delight. The location is superb; it's so convenient to take the kids downstairs to play in the sand or feed the seagulls, and getting a taxi to anywhere is quick and easy. The service is also excellent. A very satisfying stay!

We stayed in a Guest Club twin room on the 28th floor. I have to admit, the location and view were the biggest highlights. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a direct view of Xinghai Square, and the night view was absolutely stunning. Being right by the sea meant easy access to Xinghai for walks. However, the overall experience was quite disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it for families with children. The twin beds were only 1.2 meters wide each, making it quite cramped for two kids. During check-out, the front desk staff member was arrogant; they took the room card without any eye contact and just asked for the room number, even though the card itself could read the information. The communication felt very poor. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the lobby restrooms was concerning. Several stalls were dirty and messy, and the hygiene was even worse than some economy hotels, which is completely unacceptable for a five-star hotel. Overall, the hotel's only advantages are its view and location; the service and cleanliness details need significant improvement.

Overall, I was very satisfied, with the exception of the lack of a kids' play area. The Executive Lounge, in particular, was perfect for families with young children. Our little one couldn't finish a full meal but would get hungry again quickly, so the Executive Lounge, with its executive lounge service and light meals, was great for them to grab a few bites. The hotel is conveniently located near Xinghai Square, and there are amusement facilities downstairs, which was also very handy. The room layout was practical and comfortable for daily living. One minor point: the room lighting was a bit dim, and the showerhead was a bit old and could use an upgrade. However, both the room service and lobby service were excellent. The view outside the window was really nice! Although the hotel is older, it's very well-maintained and doesn't show its age at all. The comfort level was good, and the breakfast was diverse and plentiful.

The hotel's location is excellent, right by the sea downstairs, where you can feed seagulls and watch the light show. The hotel staff are warm and thoughtful; they called in advance to ask about my check-in requirements and arranged a suitable room for me.
