What a wonderful experience! We were greeted by Victoria who gave us a fun, informative and lively tour! She also makes a great "old fashion"! Our room was our own perfect hideaway in the " Loft". We've had some experiences where either or both our bed and pillows were a dud...but not at the Rabbit! The bed and pillows were perfect...so comfortable we did want to leave our bed. We ate in the pub and the main dining room the food was delicious as were our drinks. Everyone we interacted with were genuinely friendly and thoughtful. Unfortunately, it was a nasty raining weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the back deck and a fire, so we'll have to go back!

The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay in the Canopy room that has a gas fireplace. The room is on the second floor and has access to a nice porch for the warm afternoon. The breakfasts were very generous and delicious! We had a great meal in the restaurant — salmon for my husband and a pasta with an excellent wild mushroom sauce. Already thinking about returning!!

First the positives: the food was exceptional. Walked away from breakfast every morning very happy with great portions and delicious meals. Dinner was just as good. Kudos to Chef Connor - I had the best pork chop of my life on my second evening there. Shout out to the bartender in the pub, Phil, who made my wife the “best dark espresso martini of my life.” The service here was also exceptional. Between Assistant Innkeepers Victoria and Courtney and Food and Beverage Manager Kristen, every one of our requests was met with a can-do attitude, an eager-to-please smile and a happy-to-be-of-service response. I felt comfortable asking for something (which I don’t always feel - some places make me feel like I’m imposing on a staff member). Well done! In terms of the accommodations, however, I think they fell short of luxurious. Our second floor room was well decorated, the bed comfortable, but the bathroom was dated and small. More importantly, there was no way to control the room temperature, short of opening the windows, which lead to a LOT of street noise in the early morning. As a result, neither my wife nor I really enjoyed a solid night sleep during our 3 night stay. Still, we will be back, but hopefully we will get a room that has better temperature control.

The attention to every detail was exceptional. The 2 assistant innkeepers were charming and saw to our every need but were never intrusive. It was a wonderful 24 hours that refreshed like a long weekend away. The food and service at dinner, breakfast, and afternoon tea were wonderful.

A true Inn with history. Wide planked pine floors in the main building that creak with history. The bar area is a little small but there is a patio area to enjoy on the nicer days. Great food and great staff!!! We had a server issue and the staff made it right above expectations without us having to be rude about the experience, not that we are, but being in the hotel business there are times when you do come across those who expect only beyond the best to get a deal on price or free offers. We plan on returning sometime this summer or fall for another stay but we live close enough to enjoy a well prepared meal.

Our stay at Rabbit Hill Inn was a “hare”-raising delight! Outstanding food, cozy Rose room, and friendly guests made our one-year anniversary special. Big thanks to Phoebe Grace for making us feel at home! Pro tip: ASK FOR A PUZZLE ON DAY ONE

Because my husband has difficulty walking, we needed a room on the first floor. I told the reservationist that he can't climb stairs and needed a king sized bed. She said that meant a luxury room and it was only available the week before our anniversary, not the weekend of. We took it, had been there 30 years earlier and had a wonderful time. Well, my heart sank when we arrived and saw the treacherous, for my husband, two staircases we had to climb to get into the hotel. He managed but it was a struggle for him. I guess our room was a luxury room because of the two person jacuzzi tub that, of course, was not available for us. Otherwise, it looked like the "western room" at the inn. Also frustrating was the tiny bathroom with a low toilet and a very small shower. My husband used the bathroom in the hall which was large with a high toilet. We paid top dollar for a disappointing room which we used only to sleep. On the positive side, my husband finished a Stave puzzle and the staff of young women were terrific and I finished a book and did some knitting. Victoria, the young woman in charge, led us to a ramp and walk to our car which my husband could navigate. She also carried our luggage to the car. It is a lovely old inn and well maintained. The breakfasts were delicious. It just turned out to be a poor choice for us.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful overnight in the quaint and very historic Loft Room that also included dinner at 24 Carat. Everything was very close to perfect but I’ll offer the following comments as minor tweaks that could equal perfection: 1). Please don’t put out Coffee Mate creamers for the early coffee. They likely cost more than a bit of half n’ half in a pitcher and scream Hampton Inn or worse. Nobody staying at an inn of this quality should have to use fake creamer in their coffee or tea. 2). The motion-sensing nightlight in the Loft Room is positioned so just moving my legs in bed made it come on. I wanted to unplug it but needed the light to safely get to and from the bathroom. I finally decided to unplug it from the wall to sleep withoutbfurthervinterruption. 3). The bathroom’s hand-held shower was too high for my height-challenged wife to adjust. Though I could reach it, I found that even on the ‘gentle’ spray, its needle-like output was not pleasant. A small upgrade to a shower head with more spray options and intensity adjustment would be very appreciated by future guests. Again, these suggestions represent very minor ‘flaws’ and, overall, the inn was very close to a 10 out of 10 as a country B&B. 24 Carat Review: The dinner was very good; an 8 out of 10. My wife loved her parmesan soup and my caesar was good though needed more garlic and some freshly ground pepper. I also prefer shaved parmesan over finely grated but at least the romaine lettuce was not slathered in a bottled caesar dressing. My wife’s lobster carbonara was very ordinary; served less than hot and with clumpy pasta. She thought the flavor was lacking too and she added a squeeze of fresh lemon in an attempt to brighten the taste. My thick-cut pork chop was cooked perfectly and the mushroom risotto was the perfect accompaniment and very tasty. I did think the plate needed a green vegetable to be complete. Also, we were surprised to learn that dessert was not included in our dinner package which seemed a bit nickel and dime considering what was saved in the difference between the highest priced entrees we could’ve ordered and what we actually chose. In our world, a dinner includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. Service was attentive and pleasant and the ambiance of a table by the fireplace in a dimly-lit, intimate, colonial-style room on a snowy evening was perfect.
