We have just returned from 11 nights at Bright House. The apartments are modern, clean, and have everything you need. We had a two-bedroom downstairs apartment, the only comment is that the balcony in the downstairs two-bedroom was a bit small but the upstairs ones looked bigger. The family who owns the apartment is so helpful and goes above and beyond to make your stay really nice. It's self-catering but the owners will provide replacement clean towels, sheets, and so on upon request. There is a small bar which is really reasonable - similar prices to the local supermarket - and stocked with mainly soft drinks, iced tea, and a couple of sorts of beer. The bar is cash only. The pool and garden are lovely and kept spotlessly clean. The sun beds are actually comfortable!. As there are only eight apartments there is no scramble for sunbeds. The town is about 15-minute walk away, and there is a supermarket close by. The apartment is out of the centre to afford you a quiet break but not too far out. If it's too hot to walk back, a taxi is £2. We had read lots of comments before leaving the UK about how expensive Turkey had become but we found it really reasonable. For example, a 5-litre bottle of water was about 88p in the supermarket, and a beer in a bar was about £2.20. Most of the restaurants have similar menus, steak, pizzas, pasta, Turkish dishes, fresh fish and most have a kids' menu. A high quality steak was about £20. In the town at the bus station near the Mosque, you can jump on the local Domush bus to the beach and other locations for just over £1, and you don't have to find a bus stop. Just flag them down. Similarly, you can take a water taxi although this costs slightly more. Note that the water taxi takes you to a different part of the beach from the turtle hospital (well worth a short visit) so if you want to see the turtles, take the bus! The beaches are well equipped with a snack bar, toilets, showers and changing rooms. Sunbeds are cheap, and the vendor takes card payments. Can recommend going to the waterfalls - again bus from the town - if you fancy a bit of cold water swimming, and a trip via Ortaca to Sarigerme if you want a change of scenery. All in all, the Bright House is a good base, for a great holiday. We shall be returning next year.
