Wild Grass Nature Resort

The most beautiful and amazing place we visited in Sri Lanka! From start to finish our stay here was just perfection. The villa was stunning and they decorated our bed on our first night. Extremely clean and attention to detail! The staff were faultless, helped you with everything, made you feel welcome just incredible. The first night we were so tired they had no problem with bringing our food to our villa. The food is top quality we had a lot of Sri Lankan food and it was so tastey and lots to eat! Nimal the hotel manager is amazing! He helped us book lots of things to do and took us. It was great having him to show us around he is so nice and full of information he truly made our stay magical. We visit elephants, cave temple, did a hike and visited local markets. And lots more! We will think about this place for a long time, it created such beautiful memories in a very special area. Be prepared to switch off and feel totally relaxed and at ease. Thank you so much to the staff ❤️

This is the most amazing place! It’s on a beautiful piece of land and feels so serene and peaceful with lots of privacy. The staff are so very kind and helpful. The food is incredible and ordering the meals in advance makes everything so smooth! I can’t recommend this place enough, the rooms are gorgeous, the pool is amazing, and the monkeys are adorable!

We had the most unforgettable stay at Wild Grass Resort — truly a stunning accommodation set right in the heart of nature. On our very first day, we were greeted by incredible wildlife: a monitor lizard, graceful peacocks, and playful monkeys roaming freely around the property. The food was exceptional, with every meal bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Service throughout our stay was excellent, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. This resort was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. The combination of wilderness, comfort, and hospitality made it a magical experience. We will definitely be back!

We stayed for two nights in a two bedroom villa with private pool. The house and pool were really nice as is the property. The living room is not air conditioned and so you can’t really use it until after sundown as it is super hot, even with the fan on. The pool is small and lovely - a great reprieve for kids between activities. The two bedrooms are nice and the house embedded in nature, feeling incredibly secluded and private. The food was really good, fresh seafood, great prices and easy/casual with kids. My only comment is that the prices are high compared to similar experiences and amenities we had in other places. That said everything was lovely!!

This is one of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed at. Its setting in nature cannot be matched, and it was so relaxing. I don’t think we’ve ever had better service anywhere in the world. The standard of the accommodation is very high and provided a lot of space for us as a family of 4. The outdoor showers were lovely, and the floor to ceiling glass windows help to immerse you into the amazing jungle setting. Be warned that the setting means we did come across wildlife in the villa, but we personally loved this and feel it added to the authenticity of the experience. The food at the hotel was wonderful - definitely the best rice and curry we had during our whole trip, but all the food was delicious and our children also loved it (ages 15 and 9). Due to the small nature of the hotel I wasn’t sure if it would feel very quiet and perhaps uncomfortable at meal times, but the atmosphere was so relaxing. I think this is mostly due to the wonderful staff at the hotel. The location of the hotel is very off grid but nearby you are so well located for Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla and the cave temple, Minneriya national park, and even Polonnaruwa. We spent 3 nights here and fitted all these experiences in. We also had time to cool off in the pool one afternoon which was lovely as we had it to ourselves and again its immersed in the surrounding nature so feels very special and relaxing. We honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough if you love nature, and want exceptional service.

Warm welcome, beautiful small hotel, very nice cottage for 2 with private small pool, very friendly staff, wonderful continental breakfast. Surprise and totally unexpected, at departure we got a lunchbox for the road with very yummy sandwiches.

A lovely stay at the Wild Grass Resort. The villa was amazing - clean, very spacious , beautiful outdoor enclosed showers. Very tranquil location. The breakfast was superb - fresh fruit , juice, fresh coffee , a choice of cooked breakfasts - plentiful and fresh. Staff were lovely - attentive and polite . Highly recommended to stay here !
