Twyford Farm B&B

Absolutely stunning stay at Twyford Farm — what a gem! The setting is picture-perfect: rolling countryside, peaceful, and full of character. The hosts were fantastic — genuinely welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was spot on — we went for the full English, and it was properly done: quality ingredients, cooked perfectly, and piping hot. Loads of other options too if you fancy something lighter. The room was immaculate — beautifully designed, spotless, and had a cracking view over the fields with sheep and pheasants everywhere (honestly, they’re like the farm’s little celebrities!). The whole place feels calm, cosy, and cared for. We didn’t get to explore the grounds as the weather was awful, but from what we saw, it looked absolutely gorgeous — the kind of place you can’t wait to come back to in summer. A brilliant stay from start to finish — well worth the trip. We’ll definitely be returning.

A lovely farmhouse, full of character. Only had a one night stop off but would love to come back again and stay longer to explore the area… and enjoy more of the wonderful breakfast menu on offer. Many thanks for a pleasant stay.

Very comfortable, homely B and B. We had booked all 3 rooms for our family to attend a wedding at The Ravenswood. It is ideally placed for the wedding venue and is in the beautiful Ashdown Forest with views from all the windows. Our bedroom was massive with a sofa and small kitchen area. All beds were extremely comfy and we were served a good breakfast. There is a guests lounge which is great, particularly if staying with family or friends and outside seating to enjoy the view and listen to the birds. We unfortunately didn't have enough time to explore but did manage a quick walk before breakfast to see the abundant bird life and herd of deer.

The farmhouse is remote, surrounded by Ashdown forest, apart from a few meadows with grazing cattle and sheep. There are deer in the forest. Access from the south is stony. Access from the north is easier, but either way there are potholes. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was well-equipped. Beds were not made or rooms cleaned unless requested. Breakfasts were good with good scrambled eggs, excellent local honey and home-made marmalade.

We were given a lovely welcome from Liz when she greeted us in our late afternoon arrival. The farmhouse is based on a beautiful old 17C building with all the lovely quirkiness of its origins. It's in a very peaceful location, away from traffic noise and very easy in which to relax. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast choices and quality were excellent. There are two pubs in the nearest village (2 miles), both serving good food, although the Crown just has the edge for us. Standen and Wakehurst are in easy travelling distance, Nymans, Sheffield Park and Chartwell not much further. Twyford Farm makes a very good base for a break in this part of the world.
