Cedar Inn

We had a lovely stay at the Cedar Inn 3 weeks ago. The ambiance, the stay, the staff were way beyond our expectations. It was a pleasure to have interacted with Mr Tenzing Wangpo, the Lama. If we ever visit Darjeeling again our stay will be at Ceda Inn, without a doubt!! Thank you Cedar Inn!!

Unfortunately, it has become extremely crowded, is infrastructurally almost broken, and hence is very chaotic, dirty, and has traffic jams worse than even bigger cities like Bangalore. So having a peaceful hotel/resort with good service is the only way you can enjoy the town. Cedar Inn was that place for us. It is slightly expensive, but they make it worth it for you. The key things that I have specified right at the top are the things we will remember this place for. Not too many cons.

Our family stay at Cedar Inn, Darjeeling, was nothing short of magical. The hotel exudes British-style charm, resembling a royal castle perched atop a hill, surrounded by vibrant flowers. The luxurious wooden rooms, spacious and elegantly designed, truly made us feel like royalty. The spectacular view of Kanchenjunga from the hotel is an unforgettable highlight. The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options. A note for first-timers: while not mandatory, dressing formally during meals enhances the experience as the ambiance feels regal, and casual attire might seem out of place. The property is impeccably maintained, with spacious areas and a peaceful vibe. They offer a convenient shuttle service between 6 AM and 6 PM, which is a blessing since the location, while stunning, is quite challenging to access by foot, especially when going to or from the Mall Road. If you’re looking for a royal, serene, and luxurious getaway in Darjeeling, Cedar Inn is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

The best possible stay in Darjeeling . Every corner of the property has a story . It has a colonial charm with all modern amenities. The staff is extremely extremely warm and hospitable. The general manager Mr Sanjay himself caters to you personally and ensures that you feel literally at home . The rooms are spacious , warm with a direct view of the Khanchendzonga range . They have a beautiful lawn and you can have your private bonfire party. In short the best hospitality in Darjeeling.

Our stay at Cedar Inn during our Darjeeling trip from May 9th to 11th, 2025, was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in warmth and old-world charm. The property itself is stunning — with its vintage architecture, cozy interiors, and breathtaking views of the Kanchendzonga range, it felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat from another era. The check-in was seamless, setting the tone for a stay that was both relaxing and memorable. The food was delightful — we thoroughly enjoyed every meal, especially the breakfast and dinner spreads that were both hearty and flavorful. What truly made our stay special, however, was the genuine hospitality of the staff. Their kindness and attentiveness made us feel truly cared for. A heartfelt thank you to Mingmoy, Apsara, and Robin for their warm service in the dining area — always with a smile and a kind word. And a special note of gratitude to Mr. Sanjay Nangia (GM), whose personal attention and thoughtful gestures added a beautiful personal touch to our experience. Cedar Inn is not just a hotel — it’s an experience, with its perfect location, thoughtful details, and soothing ambiance. We left with lovely memories and hope to return someday to relive them. Hospitality was superb. Excellent behaviour of all the staff. Food was excellent. The staff is always ready to go the Extra Mile. Consistent and standardized hospitality. Would love to visit again. Kudos to the management. The property has been very well kept.
