"First of all, during check-in, they couldn’t find my reservation and seemed quite confused, which caused a significant delay. Right in front of the main entrance, guests were constantly gathered smoking, so every time I went in and out, the smell of cigarettes was very unpleasant. None of the staff properly guided them to a designated smoking area. The breakfast (€18) was very poor, consisting of cheap ham, sausages, and wilted salads. There was no egg station either. The rooftop pool was open, but the water was so cold that it was unusable. When I went back in the evening, the water was warmer, but it was too crowded to use. Additionally, when I made the reservation, I mentioned that it was my wife’s birthday and expected something like champagne or a fruit basket, as some hotels provide for special occasions. However, there was nothing. When I asked the front desk just in case, they said they do offer such services but were unaware of my request. Instead, they said they would prepare something special for breakfast, but all they did was place a birthday napkin on the reserved table. Haha."

"I was booked into the "Felix" as part of the HR bike tour. Looking at the hotel from the outside, you might think it's been empty for some time... Unfortunately, the first impression isn't misleading. Several hundred cyclists were booked here - the reception was completely understaffed and overwhelmed with just three (!) people. The fact that time slots were set for breakfast is somewhat understandable - but perhaps it would be better to sell fewer rooms if the space isn't sufficient. On the day of arrival, the shower was lukewarm at best - when I pointed this out, they said they had checked it out. Well, the next morning, the water was completely cold... Unfortunately, there was no one at the reception to follow up. The icing on the cake, however, was the notice that the (advertised...) hotel bar was closed in the evening because they "didn't have enough seating." I would have been the only guest at 10:15 PM... I then moved to another hotel at my own expense for the (booked) second night."

"Good location and good service. Unfortunately, there's no air conditioning and it was terribly hot. There's also no way to clean the room yourself, with a vacuum cleaner or anything like that. It's only cleaned occasionally. But the rooftop terrace is great, although the parking has become extremely expensive."

"We visited friends in Darmstadt. These were just around the corner of the hotel, so as was closer to book the hotel. We arrived at 15:00 and checked in. Beautiful simple double room (23) with good bed. All you need for a short stay. Very good and rich breakfast as you need to book extra. Parking outside the door. We paid for 3 nights with breakfast 487.60 euros. When you visit the next visit to Darmstadt, we will be happy to come back."

"I was staying in a hotel nearby. This hotel recommended the Rosengarten for dinner. I could reach the restaurant in a few minutes on foot. From the outside it is rather inconspicuous. After checking the menu, I stayed there for dinner. I liked it so much that I went there two evenings in a row. The service was very attentive. The restaurant and the rooms I saw were very clean. The food was above average - definitely go there."
