Stay once, regret for life. I was on the verge of a breakdown. The rooms without a tour group are absolutely terrible, the rating is inaccurate. There were all sorts of bugs 🐛, and the bathroom was unbearable. I guarantee you'll have an unforgettable experience, in the worst way possible.

The bedroom and bathroom are clean. The owner is very friendly. The hotel is quite well located: there is a bus stop nearby, and if the weather is nice, you can easily get around by bike, as it's easy to find one in the area. Additionally, the proximity to a train station makes long-distance travel very convenient. Overall, a very good experience!

For it’s price, it’s a perfectly reasonable stay with private bathroom and shower. Usually places as cheap as this have shared bathroom. I was also greeted very politely by the owner. Honestly, reading some of these reviews here, what do you expect from a place costing 10$ a night? 4 star hotel? Please. Bring your own toilet paper, towel and shampoo. Place is called Oyo Hotel and the location is very convenient. I was annoyed by the dogs who constantly barked when I tried to sleep. Other than that, everything was as I expected from the photos of the property

Hotels in Datong are all so expensive. Honestly, for this price, I can't complain much. The only downside was that there was no water in the room, and I was so thirsty in the middle of the night. I think they could at least put a bottle of water in the room; water isn't that expensive.

The owner of this place is such a nice and good pero. I got in troubles with my esim card, big problem if you are a solo traveler coming from Europe (can not pay anyty, can not book trips, etc). I asked the owner for help and immediately he was up tho help me solve the situation, even if he has to stop his own busy morning. I'm very grateful. Accomodation is in a very good location, close enough to the ancient city but far enough to enjoy the truly local love of Datong. Room is simple but totally comfortable enough. Totally recommend this place to solo travelers

A great hotel near the train station, offering excellent value for money. Highly recommended! The only downside is the unstable WiFi signal and slow internet speed; it often lags. I hope the hotel considers upgrading to a newer router.
