Pingyun Bieyuan (Ancient City Wall Store)

The owner picked us up from the station on the day we arrived. The courtyard design was captivating, very traditional Chinese style. The facilities were complete, and both the hardware and software were excellent. Breakfast was also very nice, making it feel as comfortable as home.

You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making the bedding comfortable and ensuring cleanliness, trying to match big chain hotels like Ji Hotel, and they've done a really good job. It's located right inside Datong Ancient City, very close to everything. You can walk to the ancient city walls, and there are electric scooters available for rent nearby if you want to explore. The hotel details page also lists ancient city attractions and recommended restaurants. **Facilities:** Well-equipped, with comfortable bedding. It would be even better if there was a master switch for all the lights, and I'd suggest adding a luggage rack or two. **Cleanliness:** Clean, hygienic, and odor-free; everything was very tidy. **Environment:** Quiet surroundings, right within the ancient city. It’s very close to the city walls, Fahua Temple, Huayan Temple, and Daiwangfu. **Service:** They offer a specific breakfast, and for our family of three, they even included a complimentary breakfast for our child, which was a nice touch.

The location is fantastic, right behind Daiwang Mansion, and just a few minutes' walk to Kuixing Tower. The courtyard design is absolutely beautiful, perfect for photos. They even upgraded my reserved room to a suite for free, which was a great bonus. Breakfast was delicious too.

Overall, it was decent. The location is very close to Kuixing Tower, so you can enjoy the evening breeze on the grass next to it. The guesthouse itself is a sunken courtyard. Staying on the lower level might affect natural light, but the owner designed a water feature with goldfish swimming around in the lower courtyard, which really enhanced that area. The room facilities are all new, clean, and hygienic. I have to say, hotel prices in Datong are really high during the summer.

This was the most satisfying stay I've had in Datong. The room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. The staff were incredibly attentive, and you could even enjoy breakfast in the large courtyard. The breakfast itself was exquisite and delicious. It's also super convenient, as you can walk to all the attractions. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Datong.

Datong Ancient City Small Garden B&B offers a delightful stay with its elegant waterscape. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the service was warm and attentive. We had a minor issue with our room, but the owner graciously upgraded us to a family room. The breakfast selection was also quite unique and flavorful.

Had a really comfortable stay. The B&B is thoughtfully designed and well-equipped. Even in early April, the underfloor heating was still on, making it very warm. Its location within the ancient town made getting around super convenient. The car rental service they offer was also great, making our outings hassle-free.
