The room facilities are well-appointed, clean and hygienic, with a separate wet and dry area. The front desk staff, restaurant staff, and customer service personnel are all incredibly friendly, treating guests like family. The hotel's overall style is unique and grand. The breakfast offers a rich and varied selection, and it's delicious. Choosing Holiday Inn was a very wise decision, and I will definitely book this hotel again if I have the chance to visit Datong in the future.

The hotel offers a pick-up service from the South Station, which you can arrange in advance. They proactively confirm your needs the day before check-in, which is a thoughtful touch. The location isn't too far from the attractions, and getting a taxi is convenient and inexpensive. The common areas are thoughtfully designed, with the first and third floors being particularly distinctive. The standard rooms are a good size, odor-free, and have effective heating and AC. The bedding includes a down comforter and two types of pillows with different firmness levels. A fruit platter is provided daily. The downsides are that our particular room lacked a sofa and had too few chairs. While the shower had good water pressure, the stream was too fine and felt a bit prickly on the skin. The breakfast is very generous, and the dining environment is comfortable. They are quick to replenish dishes, and the hot dishes feature substantial meat options like stir-fried lamb with oil (guòyóuròu) and prawns. I recommend the lamb offal noodles and the pea flour noodles. Overall, I highly recommend staying here.

First off, the hotel's location is excellent, very close to Datong South Station, and it's super easy to get a taxi. Second, the service was great; the staff were very welcoming, and the room was spotlessly clean. They even upgraded my room for free! The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it included Datong's signature yellow rice cakes, knife-cut noodles, and shaomai. Overall, I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Datong!

The Holiday Inn Express, part of the IHG group, is always a great choice when traveling with friends. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast, and having a live noodle station is a fantastic bonus. The hotel is located in a relatively quiet area, about six kilometers from Datong Ancient City, making it super convenient for sightseeing while also providing a peaceful environment for a good night's sleep.

I booked this hotel because it had good reviews online. When I arrived, it was already late. I checked in at the front desk, dropped off my luggage, and went out to explore. I didn't even check the cleanliness. I came back around 11 PM, ready to shower and sleep, but when I pulled back the covers, there were yellow stains. It was absolutely disgusting. I called the front desk, and they said they'd change them. I waited almost half an hour for a staff member to come, and then another half an hour for them to actually change the bedding. I was already tired, and by the time everything was done, it was past midnight. The experience was terrible. I thought it was a new hotel, but I never expected the hygiene to be this disgusting.

As a Diamond member, I didn't receive any room upgrade or welcome fruit. The front desk claimed they had upgraded my room, but they hadn't. The toothbrush quality was terrible; the bristles kept falling out in my mouth. The shower water wasn't hot at night, and my child was crying because it was so cold during their bath. Breakfast was okay, but the lamb offal soup had a very strong smell that permeated the entire lobby. This was just a stopover on our way to the Yungang Grottoes.

Very satisfied! Parking was super convenient, and it's in a great location for Datong. It was Chinese New Year, so there were a lot of people, and breakfast was a bit chaotic, but overall, it was excellent.
