Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale , Datong

Regarding the 60 RMB voucher for Fenglin Pavilion (one per meal, per table): I wasn't informed about it, nor was it given to me when I checked in at the front desk. Facilities: The room facilities are top-notch for Datong, and the L'Occitane toiletries in small bottles are a rare find these days. Service: Unfortunately, the staff training is quite average and doesn't meet the super 5-star standard expected from a top Wyndham brand. Cleanliness: The room was generally clean, but I still found hair and false eyelashes left behind by the previous guest. Minibar: The minibar is also a highlight of this room type, and the selection is pretty good.

Facilities: Comprehensive Cleanliness: Spotless Environment: Quiet and clean Service: Decent It's quite convenient for dining, with Fenglin Pavilion downstairs. Getting to Datong Ancient City isn't far, about a 10-minute taxi ride. Yungang Grottoes is about 20 kilometers away. Overall, it's pretty good for being in Datong New Area.

The environment is quite good, and the amenities in the room, such as the smart speaker system throughout and the smart toilet, are very convenient. However, the service doesn't match the environment. Breakfast was chaotic; there was no one to guide us to a table, and we couldn't find chopsticks until we asked for them. They mentioned complimentary bathhouse and swimming tickets, but the women's area in the basement only has a pool for swimming. The 'bathhouse' consists of just two bathtubs, which require an extra charge to use. It's quite pointless; they might as well just say there's a swimming pool. The Fenglin Pavilion restaurant on the first floor is excellent.

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean! The breakfast offered a good variety, including Shanxi specialties like knife-cut noodles and cold noodles. Plus, there's a Fenglincourt branch restaurant right on the first floor of the hotel, which makes dining very convenient. It's also super close to the ancient city.

Had a wonderful stay at the Wyndham Datong. The hotel has a great design, and the room was spacious and clean. The comfortable mattress ensured a good night's sleep. The service was warm and attentive, and the breakfast offered a good variety and tasted delicious. Overall, a perfect experience. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Datong.

The hotel is new and the rooms are quite spacious. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. It's also very close to Fantawild, which was great for visiting with kids. The pool water was clean, and the kids had a lot of fun, though the water temperature was a bit too cold for little ones, making them shiver. The mini-bar was complimentary, and parking was convenient. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong.

This hotel is located right inside the Sleepless City scenic area, which made exploring the area incredibly convenient! The lobby is spacious and impressive, and the guest rooms are clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The front desk staff are highly professional and truly go the extra mile for guests, which is really commendable! 👍

This hotel is truly luxurious and conveniently located in the new city. It's my top choice when visiting Datong, as it's not far from the ancient city, museums, Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, and other attractions. Downstairs, you'll find Fengling Pavilion, where the shaomai (steamed dumplings) are absolutely delicious. During my stay in Datong, I found the local people to be incredibly kind! I highly recommend everyone to visit Datong at least once if they get the chance, to experience the Northern Wei dynasty's charm.

My trip to Datong truly exceeded my expectations! The sky was so blue, the greenery was stunning, and the Yungang Grottoes were absolutely breathtaking. The ancient city of Datong really came alive at night with all the beautiful lighting illuminating each attraction. The Wyndham hotel I stayed at was luxurious and high-end, with warm service, a convenient location, and top-notch facilities. There's even a Fenglincourt branch right on the ground floor. Two days just wasn't enough!
