MEHOOD LESTIE Hotel (Datong Mingtang Baisheng)

This hotel was bad in such a bizarre way. At 8 degrees Celsius at night, they told me the AC couldn't heat, and I even found live bugs in the duvet. And that wasn't all – in the morning, the shower head inexplicably started running, waking me up. You can see in the video that it clearly wasn't turned on. Plus, the soundproofing on one side of the hotel corridor was absolutely terrible; I could hear the phone ringing in the room opposite even with their door closed. To experience all these flaws in just one night at your hotel is truly unprecedented and mind-blowing 😅😅😅

The room's cleanliness could be improved. On the first day, the room wasn't very clean, but since we checked in late, we didn't ask to switch. On the second day, we were moved to a different room and got an upgrade, which was much better. Breakfast was decent. Overall, cleanliness needs work.

The room was excellent, so I decided to extend my stay. Facilities: Good Hygiene: Good Environment: Good Service: Good

During the Qingming Festival, hotel prices in Datong went through the roof, but this place offered a reasonable rate. The location is great, right next to Mingtang Park, and near Longjuxiang, a well-known spot in Datong. It's also not far from Datong Ancient City, and the facilities are quite new.

The lights in the first room didn't work, so I had to switch. Then the air conditioning in the new room didn't work either. It was a terrible experience. After a long day out, I had to keep switching rooms late at night. On top of that, the door was broken. The elevator didn't require a key card, so anyone could go up, making the security feel subpar. The carpet in the room looked like it had never been cleaned; it was covered in all sorts of dirt.

The hotel is conveniently located just outside the old city, and the pickup point for day tours is also very close. The decor is very new and the facilities are good. They provide complimentary fruit every day and unlimited bottled water. However, the underfloor heating was too strong, and it felt a bit stiflingly hot in the room. 😳

The room was clean and tidy, and the decor was nice. It was also very warm in winter. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and answered all our questions. Plus, there's free underground parking, which is a big bonus. I'll definitely come back next time! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

After a long search on Ctrip, I finally booked the Mehao Lizhi Hotel. During the peak summer season, many hotels had outrageous price hikes, but Mehao Lizhi offered great value for money. It looked new, having opened in 2025, and indeed, the room was exactly as pictured. The service was excellent; every time we left, a front desk staff member would greet us. The breakfast was also very good. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit.
