It's a bit difficult to review this hotel. What made us most angry was that they charged us a child fee when we arrived at the hotel, so friends with children should pay attention, which is about 180 per night. Secondly, we found that they were renovating the new building, so it was relatively dirty and there was a bit of paint smell. The renovation was still going on at 8 pm on the first night. There was no phone in his room, so every time you needed service, it was very difficult, and you had to run to the front desk yourself... The room was generally clean on the second day of the hotel, but I thought her room was cleaned very well when we checked in on the first day. At first, we booked a cabin, which was very interesting. Although the room was small, I thought it was very unique. The breakfast was very unpalatable.

It's a very nice place to spend your diving holidays. The room was spacious and the staff very friendly. There is a restaurant which is ok, but there are also many nice options just outside with a huge variety and a local touch. Breakfast is not one of my favourites but they will be helpful to find something you like. Also: for my taste there is a bit too much of the Swiss Theme around. I love the dive bar and also the amount of frangipani trees you find all over. Definitely a very good choice to spend your holidays in Dauin.

Pura Vida was amazing. The accommodation, food and facilities were all top notch, and the diving was great. Mostly muck diving with some reef diving as well. The guides were knowledgeable and able to find all sorts of interesting critters on every dive. The dive boats were also comfortable and had everything you might need. Would definitely recommend!

The staff deserves all the credit. They make this place wonderful and a joy to stay at. The location is great, because it is close to Dauin’s town center and some good restaurants (Anahaw deserves a special mention as a great place to eat!). Looking at price performance, it’s a little pricy on diner and drinks, especially when compared to local alternatives. Other than that, Pura Vida is a very nice resort and relaxing place to be.

This property appears to be a merger of at least two different hotels. The standard between one part of the property and the other part are very different. Grounds are beautiful and well kept. Facilities are good and reasonably well maintained. We booked and paid for Deluxe Double rooms via Agoda. The rooms are stand alone nipa hut style. There are 10 of these rooms. They are comfortable but not deluxe by any stretch. These rooms are at the back of the resort. Unfortunately very close to the power utility generator that runs all day from early morning until evening and all night on at least two nights we were there. It is very very loud. We were told by reception staff that it does not run at night. They lied. We stayed here because the diving operator based at this hotel is very good. But we were so disappointed in the rooms we were given. If you stay here, stay in the rooms on the beach side of reception to avoid the noise. If you stay here we also recommend you eat elsewhere. There’s a range of good places in Dauin now all within walking distance that serve much better food. Food at this resort is expensive, bland and underwhelming. Drinks are also very expensive.

I made a trip to the Philippines for my son's wedding. I was referred to Pura Vida by my new daughter in law who grew up in the area. Of the five resorts that I checked out online, this was by far the most appealing property for many reasons. I can honestly say that the entire visit was one of the most pleasant and wonderful experiences I have ever had. Having such a wonderful place to stay made my time with my son and his wife that much more special. And my daughter in law knows many of the staff. They all made me feel like family. I spent 16 days enjoying the Bird's Nest Suite, which was roomy, comfortable, clean, cool, and overall just great. I could not have been happier with the staff and the care I received from them all. They all treated me like family; from the restaurant, bar, office, and housekeeping... Everyone was so sweet and pleasant. The breakfasts included with my stay were good and plentiful. The other meals I ate at the resort were plentiful and good. My room was up 2 flights of stairs (good exercise) with a lovely view of the property and view through the trees of the beach. The propery and pools are lovely and so well maintained. Even all the property maintenance staff were friendly, always greeting me. I had a wonderful massage at the spa one afternoon. My home is in northern Nevada in the USA. I traveled about 30 some hours to get to the Philippines. Having such a beautiful, relaxing place to stay made my visit a joy! Thank you, Jovey, to you and your wonderful team for everything. I really hope to be back before too long.

Great resort , beautiful beach for diving and snorkelling or just for a morning stroll before breakfast. Very relaxing and all staff are great very professional!!! Has a great restaurant, pools and spa . Big shout out to the owners Juvy and Chris , thank you for taking care of us!

Five Stars go to the Pura Vida resort, and its superb dive center, Sea-Explorers. I stayed at Pura Vida for three days and immediately forgot about the mad and crazy world that we live in. The resort has beautifully manicured grounds with a very welcoming and friendly staff. It is a Beach Front property with a great chill feel to it. My room, Pygmy room, was a stone’s throw away from the sea, presenting a stunning view in the early morning and throughout the day. The dive center is well equipped, and very efficient. All the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A big shout out goes to, Erwin, who was my dive instructor. I completed my advanced open water dive certification in two days. Erwin was extremely thorough, conscientious, and safe. I always felt comfortable diving with him, and even though I have been diving for over 30 years, I ended up learning some valuable tips. If you are looking for a fabulous and relaxing resort with a competent and friendly dive instructor(Erwin), look no further than Pura Vida. Claude
