Ten thousand thumbs up! If you're in Yubeng during the rainy season, you absolutely cannot miss this hotel. You get a direct view of the snow-capped mountains, and in the morning, you can watch the sunrise illuminate them from your room. The soundproofing is excellent, and there's underfloor heating throughout. The design is simple but blends perfectly with the scenery – they really put a lot of effort into it! The bed was incredibly comfortable. But the best part was the service. When I ran out of water at night and went to buy two bottles, the owner just gave them to me for free. This reminds me of a crummy hotel in Feilai Temple that charged 600 RMB and then even charged for water. Compared to that, I feel like guests at Muchen are so lucky!

A little off the main trail, but a nice place with a great helpful staff. Amazing views from the 2nd floor!

This is the very hostel that I would highly recommend to anyone who goes to Yubeng. Clean and comfy bed, quality amenities, kind and informative staff (* Jasmin, you are amazing!), wonderful common area where you would surely want to sit down and stay for a while over a cup of coffee or tea. They serve breakfast, the best Mixian with fried egg, which cost you only $30. The upper Yubeng is reachable in about 30-45 minutes, so in case you plan to explore both lower and upper Yubeng as most people do, I would recommend that you stay at this hostel for 2 nights instead of finding another one in the upper Yubeng. It is that good.

Great location in the lower village. Really nice room! It is not a hostel its a really nice and cosy hotel.

Cozy and nice hotel. The views are astounding. As other people claim, you can hear your neighbors but after all the hiking we were so tired it's really no bother :-)

Kim’s Youth Hostel is located in the backyard of Lower Yubeng and offers private ensuite rooms with basic shower amenities. It is about 5 mins walk to the main stretch of restaurants and shops at Lower Yubeng and 10mins walk to the transport pickup area (to Upper Yubeng/ Ninong Village). The room offers some views of the valley but is partially obstructed by buildings in front of it. Breakfast starts after 7.30am but our plans started earlier. We didn’t get the breakfast but chose to buy a 35rmb sandwich instead. The accommodation does not provide bottled water. Instead, there is a filtered water dispenser at the lobby/dining area to refill your bottles.

It is expensive but well yubeng is a village and everything is overpriced. Aircon/ heater didn't really work but the staff was super friendly.

Beautiful hotel in lower yubeng with a good view of the Meili snow mountain from our room. Room was comfortable, clean and very spacious. Staff was friendly and service was good.

Good location for hikes starting in Lower Yubeng with a nice view. Room was well appointed, with warm showers, heating, and comfortable beds - everything needed after a day of trekking. Staff are friendly and happy to help, and provided great advice on hiking in the area. We were provided with crampons and walking poles to borrow for free.

The facility was clean, and the staff spoke basic English. Communication issues were resolved with a translator, and the washing machine, walking stick, and umbrella rentals were all free. I'm traveling in China for about 20 days, and the soundproofing isn't great. I could hear everyday conversations in the next room. When the next room was a little noisy, I contacted the hotel via WeChat, and they took care of it right away. Still, since everyone was here for trekking, it was quiet after 10 p.m. It rained the entire time I was trekking in Meili Mountain, which was difficult.

It's located at the very edge of Lower Yubeng, near the pickup point to Upper Yubeng; the hike is quite arduous. The hotel environment is excellent, with unobstructed views of the snow-capped mountains; you can see them as soon as you open the door. There are also cats and dogs in the courtyard.

The room hygiene needs to be improved. There was a lot of hair and dust on the bed on the first day of check-in.

The hotel was probably partially demolished due to some historical reasons. At first, I thought the Syrian style was a rip-off. After entering, I found it was quite good. The location is great. The small garden is also very good. Bring your own food, this is perfect.

The accommodation is clean and provides a foot bath. It is a good place to rest in Yubeng.
