Since it's a temporary stop for hikers going to Upper Yubeng, the hygiene could definitely be improved. The soundproofing isn't great, but it was surprisingly quiet at night when everyone was asleep – probably because they were all exhausted. The facilities were fine, and it wasn't cold at night. The best part is that the accommodation is very close to the Ice Lake entrance, which is super convenient.

The dorm room is more like a staff room, where anyone can come in to have a quick shower and go out. Smoking in the room and throwing the cigarattes all over the place and make the room full of smoke smell. Not recommended for their dorm type room.

The soundproofing in the room was quite poor; you could hear other guests talking. The cleanliness was generally fine, but there was no heating during my stay. However, the hotel providing a laundry room is definitely a plus for hikers!

We spent an excellent time at ShanYu hotel , excellent location, majestic mountain views, very friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable. The only upgrades we would have liked are air conditioning (it's pretty hot in August here, notwithstanding the 3200m altitude) and maybe a swimming pool / sauna? That would really help with the recovery after a day of tracking the nearby mountains. Thank you. I definitely recommend it! 👌

Pricey for dorm but this is the standard for Yubeng probably. The dorm has lots of amenities which was nice, so there is no need to bring your own towel, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, toothbrush etc. The breakfast buffet was filling.

Room was clean enough, breakfast was good. The lobby was a comfortable place to sit down and the view outside was incredible. Staff was very friendly and did try to help me where possible. Bed was very very hard. Good for one night but that’s it.

Unfortunately the bathroom in my dorm was very dirty with lots of hair on the floor and towel on the floor. Not sure if I was just unlucky with the cleaning cycle. Its convenient since they have a restaurant and a nice terrace.
