Sundestin Beach Resort

Keeping in mind all condos are booked through different rental companies and different sites Ill keep this to the building in general. Pros: Great location. Central to all Destin attractions. Walking distance to some fast food, souvenir shops, water park, mini golf/gocarts. Building staff very friendly and helpful. Beach front. On site restaurant and convenience store. Chair and umbrella rentals available. Easy parking. Luggage carts available. Lobby and common areas kept clean. Beautiful views. Saw dolphins from our balcony in the morning. Price was affordable. Cons: The only real con is that currently the building is undergoing renovation (will be complete late summer 2025) and so it can be noisy in the mornings. Did not really effect our trip. Some balconys are inaccessible so I would just verify yours is not before booking if that matters to you. The parts of the building that are completed look nice and it will give an updated look once complete. Outdoor pool, hot tub and splash pad are closed due to construction as well but indoor pool was open. And you have the ocean. We stayed in unit 1402. Booked through AirBnb. Unit is great, updated, comfortable, good views. Hosts were very responsive. Booking is linked to building so able to check in at front desk and actually got in a couple hours early. Door uses code for entry so nice to not have to worry about taking keys down to the beach etc.

Worse than a Motel 6!!! Our room had so much damage inside. The mattress sloped off and you rolled out! The room smelled like **** upon arrival. I had to buy our own Toilet paper and when asked the staff they handed us a half used roll! Staff could have cared less about our experience! I could go on, worst accommodations.

We stayed 1 night at a 1 bedroom condo at The Grand. $536. Paid extra for a golf cart rental and it broke down and we had to get a Sandestin employee to pick us up. I went to make coffee the next morning and the water from the kitchen sink was black, I have a video. When I checked out, I showed him and also asked about a refund for the golf cart rental. Fast forward several weeks later, I had to call them just to get back the $500 golf cart deposit, and they refused to refund the golf cart rental, or offer any discount or compensation for the black water from their faucets. Terrible customer service, and we have been staying there for years. Do not stay at The Grand!!

This is a nice hotel. There is construction going on and was noisy but we were told about that up front. It didn’t interfere with us having a good vacation. The front desk was very nice and helpful. Our room was clean. There was a store on premises and an eating place. We would stay here again.

Our stay at Sundestin unit 1106 was fabulous. Everything was beautiful and perfect in every way. Very clean and excellent amenities, not to mention the gorgeous ocean view from the balcony. A very peaceful place. We fell in love with this place. Beautiful decor, comfortable in every way.

The bed in 1416 is the worst bed I’ve ever slept on. It’s a king. The two sides are so worn out, you literally touch the box spring through it. There are permanent indentations from having been used likely since the 90s. It’s a cheap 8” spring mattress which makes it worse. The middle has a huge hard hump so you can’t even roll over. The furnishings in the entire room were incredibly dusty, especially the wicker headboard. We covered it with the spare sheet so we could sleep without rolling and breathing in dust. Only one ceiling fan worked and it was the dining room one. Other than that, the room is cute and decorated very beachy-Florida. The bathrooms and kitchen are clean and well-equipped. The floors are all tile and clean. We didn’t see any critters or roaches which is always a plus. Just change the entire bed, mattress and headboard, and this would’ve been a really nice stay. The staff were all super friendly but I didn't bring my concerns to their attention until checkout. I'm not sure they would have been able to do anything about it anyway.
