So glad we found this place. Idyllic setting. Lunch was excellent, served in a lovely restaurant. Service was outstanding. Only comment would be that the presentation of the menu was a little tacky and did not do the food justice. Perhaps a better description of the wonderful food and instead of a piece of paper present the menu in a folder. This, however, did not detract from our experience. We will definitely return and thoroughly recommend.

Ridden past this place many times, pulled in Saturday afternoon after mountain biking the Bucknell trails just a mile or so away. Idyllic setting, the garden runs down to the river. It’s picture post card stuff. As soon as you walk in you can smell history, solid oak floor, crooked beams, tiles and black and white photos of yesteryear. Grabbed a pint of wye valley ale and some peanuts and headed for the garden where lunch plans were rewritten. Home made, wood fired pizzas: wow.

Lovely hotel with old world charm. We were there for the steak night and everything was cooked as we wanted. Served in charming restaurant with attentive service from the young staff. Unbeatable value for money. Loved the photos in the lounge of old Leintwardine and environs.

As a frequent traveller it is rare to find an hotel which scores highly in every area but The Lion is one of those. The check in and check out were efficient, warm and friendly whilst the team were all professional, smartly presented and very helpful at all times The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well furnished. The food was well prepared and beer well kept- well done team - a rare gem and I hope to stay with you again at the first opportunity!

Very clean , tea/ coffee making facilities in room with added thoughtful touches of biscuits and soft drinks.
Delicious breakfast included .
Good restaurant on site . Lovely garden to sit and have a drink with views.
Very helpful staff . Could park across the toad when hotel car park full.
Old building set on a fairly busy road , so our room had traffic noise , as windows not double glazed . Would request room at rear next time.
15mins drive to Ludlow which is lovely for walks , castle , art galleries , shops , cafes etc

Luxury in Leintwardine
The only room left was a small double but it was perfectly adequate for 2 people for one night. The room is tastefully decorated with a large bathroom with a shower over the bath. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.
The evening meal was excellent which we took out on the terrace overlooking the river and meadows.
The breakfast was very good too although the smoked haddock was not available.
Overall, a wonderful place to stay with good food and great service in an idyllic part of the world. This wasn't my first time staying here and hopefully it won't be the last.
