Hotel de Vrede

Absolutely horrible, the room was freezing, the blankets had yellow strains on it, bathroom door had no lock, my friends and I left the hotel with some sort of insect bites all over our arms and face, whether it's bed bugs or not, we don't know but the experience was absolutely terrible.

We have just returned from a school trip to the Battlefields of the First World War and the Hotel De Vrede was an excellent base for a four day visit. The setting is picture perfect with easy access to all of the key sites. Alex and the team offer excellent customer service and definitely have the attitude that nothing was too much trouble. The food was probably the best feature, both breakfast and dinner, and was the best and freshest that I have experienced in my time organising school trips. The fact that the hotel was completely self contained which allowed the students some freedom without disturbing other guests, and has a self contained outside are was also extremely useful. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable and offer a good degree of comfort for the price charged. All in all, an extremely positive experience and we will be requesting the same accommodation next year if it is available.
