I stayed at this hacienda in May 2026, last night before flying home. It was the perfect end to a wonderful holiday in Ecuador. I had a lovely chalet overlooking the valley, and at night had the lights of Quito in the distance. My room had lovely four post bed, seating area, balcony and shower room. On arrival I walked the trail and saw lots of birds, plants, butterflies and views, although some very steep areas so was pleased when I saw other guests to keep me company. The garden area was a delight in the morning, saw lots of hummingbirds and others. The restaurant was in the hacienda styled main building (not sure if original or build as hotel). There was a real fire so nice atmoshere. Food was great and Ecuadorian. Lovely lounge area with pool table. Staff lovely.

We were in transit so only stayed one night at this lovely Hacienda in Parroquia de Pifo to be closer to the Quito airport. But wish we could have stayed longer, the property is lovely with extensive gardens and trails to explore and beautiful views. Our accommodations were very comfortable and spacious and our lunch and dinner meals at the restaurant were delicious. It is family owned and run, and they could not have been more gracious or accommodating.

What a hidden gem. As you approach the hotel you could be forgiven for thinking you are going in the wrong direction, it's quite a basic road. However, as soon as you go through the impressive gates you enter what feels like a traditional hacienda. The rooms are enormous, as are the beds (some four posters). There is plenty of space to unpack and unwind. Deceptively, the garden next to the hotel appears small but as you walk through it opens into trails that take you near to the nearby river and valley. You can't miss the hummingbirds. I was lucky enough to see some Vermillion Fly Catchers, plus llamas to boot! It is in the fly path of incoming planes so you will experience some noise from that but this is a mini-escape place all by itself so you shouldn't be put off.

After our cruise in the Galapagos, we needed a short stay before returning home. The idea of airport hotel (Wyndham, Holiday Inn) had no appeal to us however we did not feel the need to return to Quito. LA local guide recommended the Hacienda. I was so impressed, I would readily come back to Equador to stay once more at the Hacienda Jimenita. The comfort of the rooms was superbe. Large, beautifully decorated with lots of wood, large showers with plenty of hot water, everything you would expect from a 4 star. Most relevant was the setting, surrounding mountains, flowers, birds and even alpacas. The restaurant offered a most delightful selection of delicious traditional and international food. The resort offers multiple areas for families and friends to reunite as well as wonderfull entertainment areas to watch TV (really?) Pool and table gaming possibilities. Safe trails on the resort allow easy trecking where even an archeological site can be visited with a guide. In other words, it is heavenly.

This is hospitality at its finest! Upon arrival at Quito airport, our drivers awaited us and whisked us off to the Hacienda Jimenita for our 2 night stay prior to leaving for the Galapagos. As we were due to arrive after their restaurant closure, we had preordered snacks which awaited us in our rooms. The rooms were beautiful as were the grounds and hiking trails. We were guided down to the archeological pre-inca trail by Karina which was so interesting before enjoying the llamas, trails and multitude of birds! So relaxing. The food was delicious from breakfast to our group dinner that evening. Highly recommend! Beautiful property and wonderful staff!

This is a great place to start and end your trip from Quito Ecuador especially if you are a birder. The grounds are beautiful and set up to attract all types of birds including hummingbirds. We saw so many species just birding the grounds here. It is a lovely atmosphere just to hang out and enjoy the outdoors. The rooms are very comfortable but there is no electric heat. They will start a wood stove for you and it heats up the room quickly. The mornings may be a little chilly but a birder starts early anyways. The beds have electric blankets so you will get a warm cozy rest. The rooms overlook a valley and have big windows. There is a couch and table and chairs so plenty of space. You wake up hearing the birds. The one drawback is there are some airplanes that fly over in the night since it is somewhat close to the airport but ear plugs solved that problem. The bathroom is spacious and nice. The shower is tricky to find the right temperature but minor inconveniences to be in a birding garden. The restaurant on site is good and the staff very friendly. I would stay here again when flying in and out of Quito.

We stayed at Hacienda Jimenita for a few nights before and after our dive trip in the Galapagos, and it was a great experience. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the bird life is plentiful and the rooms are comfortable. We initially booked a historical room, then chose to upgrade to a balcony room. While the former was more than adequate, Balcony Andes was truly wonderful with beautiful views over Quito and the surrounding mountain ranges. On the return night we got a complimentary upgrade to the Balcony Grand Canyon, and while the views are not as impressive, the room is even more private. The team was great, from the kind people at reception to Anthony and his colleagues in the restaurant. Breakfast is limited but great and as someone who abhors waste, it's great not seeing the usual buffet where mounds of food just gets thrown away. The chef and kitchen staff are really good and we enjoyed all lunches and dinners on the property. One mention is that rooms are unheated other than a stove where you can light your own fire at night and in the morning (it works great!), but from what our tour guide told us, this is common in Ecuador with virtually no property offering central heating or A/C. Still the heavy blankets and heated blankets available in each room certainly help mitigate the night / morning chill. We had a great stay and thoroughly recommend the property.

Beautiful property close to airport. If it wasn’t for the occasional plane you would think you were in the middle of the country side. The dinner was delicious with a complimentary tamale to start and the mushroom pasta was to die for. The room was beautiful with a wood fireplace, heated duvet, large bathroom and amazing shower. I would definitely stay here

We stayed here one night returning from the Galapagos before departing Quito about 24 hours later. This was a great place for relaxing stopover. Communication to set up a pick up from the airport was wonderful, and we reached the hacienda in under 20 minutes, no traffic to worry about. Yet, the grounds of the hacienda feel peaceful. The hacienda is a lovely property with clean, spacious rooms and gorgeous gardens. The birding is excellent. Great trails around the grounds. Good restaurant on site for all meals. You will hear the planes from the airport on occasion but this didn’t bother us - part of the appeal was proximity to the airport. It was so nice to have a ride arranged for us to return to the airport and not have to worry about traffic from downtown Quito.
