Daintree Siesta

We loved it! Lovley, friendly hosts, amazing camp spot and decent amenities in the heart of the Daintree.

This campsite is ideally located close to Cape Tribulation, in the midst of the lush Daintree Forest. We stopped with our van, and we had a lovely spacious and private spot, with all amenities not too far away. This family run business is welcoming, clean, environment-friendly. The restaurant serves great food and locally sourced products (try the mango wine!). Amazing wildlife on the site (including cassowaries). We recommend stopping here 200%.

Summing up - this was the best, friendly, quiet, most close to nature and wilderness campsite we discovered on our 3 week east coast trip!! A warm family welcome at the desk, helping out on all questions we had, best tips and hints to discover the Daintree forest and surroundings, explanations to wildlife on and around the site, lovely flowers and gardens (we liked the butterfly garden), 2 trails through the rainforest starting at the site. Lovely campsite restaurant and in addition a great outdoors ktichen equipped with everything and a large table under the roof in case it's raining in the rainforest..(even in September). Clean toilet and showers. We relaxed in a camping chair to view and listen to the flying foxes at tree #19, great nature experience! Even better when all of a sudden the Casuar with 2 chickens is stepping by at dusk or dawn... Awesome! If we ever have the chance, we will be back!! Great atmosphere. We went for dinner, so can't comment on the accommodation. It was fine, the food was alright, service good. All in all average, definitely not bad, kind of what we expected.

Daintree Siesta is in an excellent location next door to the Tea Farm and has walking trails behind the resort. Twice we saw Cassowarries wandering down the road from the resort. We also enjoyed dinner in their restaurant which were tasty and healthy at very reasonable prices. The owners were great hosts and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

We had a fabulous stay at Daintree Siesta. It’s situated in the midst of the Daintree rainforest, close to the Daintree Discovery Centre and an easy drive to the main holiday attractions in Cape Tribulation. Daintree Siesta has beautiful rainforest walks on the property as well as other nearby locations. We thoroughly enjoyed eating at the restaurant at Daintree Siesta for lunch and dinner. The food was delicious, the menu included a great selection of options and the owners were really friendly and accommodating. We took our own breakfast supplies and got a camp pack with bowls, plates, utensils etc at the reception desk. We also enjoyed chatting to some of the locals as well as other travellers around the camp fire. As an added bonus they had musicians playing on some of the nights. Overall we had a lovely holiday and appreciated the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rainforest surroundings and unwind. Thanks Bruno and Tamara for our lovely stay. We will be back.

I recently stayed 2 nights at the Daintree Siesta in one of their cabins with my two kids. The location is absolutely wonderful, you are literally in the middle of the rainforest. The on-site restaurant was excellent, especially the Barramundi. In fact we ate better in the middle of the rainforest than we ate in Cairns. The owners of the family run business are very nice and provide good customer service and communication. The owner was telling me about the experience of being isolated for a couple of months after the cyclone earlier this year. They acted as a refuge centre to provide supplies for the community. Highly recommend this accommodation and this part of the world for your next vacation

great place and good value for money. There was a nice fireplace but sadly no dry firewood. This would have made a stay in the rainy conditions a bit better. Site were nice and spacious with some tucked away in the forest. Friendly hosts and clean amenities.

Went up with a family of four, we booked two cabins rooms, they were very spacious and clean. It’s a lovely family business. Tamara, Nicolas and Natasha recommended some great tours and helped us plan where to go. Bruno is a great chef we had some lovely dinners at the restaurant. The location is amazing and has rainforest walking trails that you can do at night and in the day, the wildlife was surreal. Would highly recommended the visit.
