Ganpati Guest House

Ganpati Guesthouse had been recommended in the lonely planet guidebook and we therefore booked it. We were beyond happy! Location was excellent and I would really recommend getting the airport pick up through them as they can help you find your way in the parts of the city where cars can’t drive (where the hotel is located). Service was great! We did a guided walking tour through them (one of the best things we did, and were so happy with the guide Dilep), a morning boat tour and the tour to Sarnath, and thought they were fair in price and good. Food was excellent and ambiance great. Rooms were clean and charming. Really recommend it!

Obviously the view is fantastic, and uts a chill place near the river where you can explore the Ghats and old city quite easily. We hired Dilip their in house tour guide cause we were frankly overwhelmed when we landed straight from Sweden, but he instilled some calm in us and help us kick off our India trip in a great way!

The rooms were clean, colorful, and offered a peaceful escape from the bustling energy of the ghats. The art, ambience and decor of the space gives a very positive spiritual vibe which matches with the feel of Banaras. The experience of dinner and breakfast on the rooftop restaurant with the view of the Ganges is a feeling one should also experience during your stay. For a short and family oriented trip at Banaras, we couldn't have asked for a more authentic and serene experience!"

Exceptional stay at Ganpati. Extraordinary views from the room and from the rooftop restaurant. Best views of the ghat from the hotel. Food is good and customer service was absolutely first class especially from Mr Pandey and Amit. The hotel is so underrated. Book river facing rooms. Highly recommended! 10/10.

we had really a great experience during our stay at Ganapati Guest house. The staff were very pleasant to deal with. The Restaurant staff, the Management Staff and all others that are associated with Ganapati guest house were very Polite and always willing to Provide for our needs. its a quiet and Cozy on the banks of Ganga, within walking distance to Visalakshi and Viswanath Temples and with a nice view of Ganga and the Boats from the Balcony Rooms. its best place to stay for some one who doesnt have problems with climbing up and down the Steps many times a day and do not have heavvy luggage to carry with them. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends( the bathrooms are a little smaller than expected)

Stayed at Ganpati Guest House and honestly, it felt perfect in every way. The location is amazing—right by the maa Ganga, with beautiful views, especially during sunrise and aarti time. As the solo visitor this is the safest place you will ever find in Varanasi The rooms are simply best and comfortable. What I loved the most was the staff—they are very kind, helpful, and treat you like family, not just a guest. The rooftop restaurant is a big plus. Good food, peaceful vibe, and a view you won’t forget. If you’re going to Varanasi and want a calm, positive place to stay, this is one of the best choices. Truly a 10/10 experience.

We stayed as four girls from the UK, and have never felt more cared for by the staff, in particular the manager. Everyone was so friendly and went to such lengths to make us feel looked after, for example they arranged a very reasonable taxi to Pokhara (with an outstanding driver), and had people to walk with our bags to and from drop off. If you value the highest standard of care, this is definitely the place for you, we felt like family by the end of our stay ❤️

If you’re traveling Varanasi you have to stay here. As a group of four 22 year old girls, we cannot recommend this place enough. This hotel is located right at the center of the city’s most famous Ghats, with private access to the river bank via a staircase, making access during busy times very easy. The hotel’s restaurant is great: multiple seating areas including a wonderful rooftop with a great view of the Ganges. The food is delicious at a great price and service is fast. The rooms are nice and everything is very clean. But the best part of this hotel is the staff. Every member of staff is so kind and eager to help, it was definitely the best staff experience we had in India. The manager is so generous and kind, he helped us with our onward travel as well as visa applications. We also booked a great walking tour with the hotel that taught us a lot and was very affordable. The only things I would note , are that due to the Varanasi streets being pedestrian only you will have to be dropped off and walk to the hotel, but the staff deal with this very well. We had a guide and they carried our bags, which was very very kind. Plus the location more than makes up for this. Also the shower water pressure is quite bad, but I imagine due the hotels location this impossible to prevent. Overall staying here is totally worth spending a little extra, especially if you’re a young traveler and need onward travel advice. Thank you so much to all the staff !

We had an incredible time at the Ganpati Guest House! The staff is so nice and make you feel at home. The place is amazing. We loved the rooftop and all the other little balcony places. Finding a peaceful place in a busy city is so lovely! A big thank you to Irasj (sorry if I spell your name wrong!) He was our waiter and he is such a hard working, nice, funny ***! He teaches us every day a little bit of India/Varanasi/Hindie. He felt like a friend and he was really polite. I hope your boss is reading this too and give you a lot of respect!! And also the rest of the staff because they are amazing!! Thank you! And I will recommend this place to everyone I know!!
