To be fair, I was pleasantly amazed by the overall quality-to-price ratio. Excluding some fancy, expensive leisure hotels, this was the best business travel experience for a really affordable price.
One fair warning: it is common here to smoke in the rooms. For some, that is a bonus; for me, it was not, so I asked specifically for a non-smoking room and got it. Just remember to mention this while booking the room.
For a Western traveler, it is really cheap, but the quality rivals and overtakes most European hotels, not to mention the USA. I pay 40€/night for an Executive (by EU or USA standards) level room.
It was spacious, super clean, from base surfaces down to nooks and crannies.
Modern: automatic curtain, convenient centralized control of lighting scenarios, good and relatively silent automatic air conditioning, spacious relaxing shower. Not even joking, the toilet seat was induction heated and the toilet bowl had internal lighting, for whatever purpose.
Room decor is modern, huge TV, screen share function integrated. Just do not forget an outlet adapter, you EU folks. In many industrial sockets in China, EU plugs work, but in this hotel, there are only Australian and USA sockets.
Around the hotel, there are neat, noisy, active tiny streets with street food vendors, as well as a modern district with a shopping mall. There's a small park a 5-minute walk away with street food next to it. I felt very safe while roaming the streets. I had no sketchy scenarios at all.
Fair warning: prepare a translator app. Even though it is an international hotel, staff knows only like 5 words in English. But they were very cooperative while I was using Google Translate.
My total experience is 10/10. I would recommend it to anyone.
