Embassy Suites by Hilton Dorado del Mar Beach Resort

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this place. I loved it but there were also things about it I didn't like. Some of the things i liked was how the pool seems to be kid friendly at 3ft all the way around. Housekeeping was amazing. They would make my daughters bed different everyday, placing her stuffed animals in different areas. She would get excited to go to the room everyday to see what they did. The staff was very friendly and chef Jorge had such an amazing and welcoming energy. They also gave us free drinks and snacks everyday which was great. Some things I didn't like was how thin the walls were. You could hear everything. They had an event which is fine but the kids were very loud and screaming going to their room. They woke us up around midnight. The breakfast was the same thing everyday. No variety. Only thing that changed was the oatmeal. The toilet wouldn't flush at times, we had to get lifting the lid. The shower was clogged, but thankfully the hotel did take care of that right away.

The building could use some serious maintenance. I’m disappointed in the Hilton chain for letting it go HOWEVER the staff at the hotel is PHENOMENAL and that’s what made it great. It’s such a beautiful property in a great area but the actual building desperately needs remodeling. I had an ocean view suite and we had leaks from the vents and out from the bottom of the toilet. I must give the staff their flowers because they are such amazing people and so attentive to your needs.

A nice place but with a few issues. The parking requires quite a walk from your car to the hotel unless you pay for Valet Parking. No "Cart" available to take heavy bags or items to your room unless you pay the staff to take it up for you. And there is only ONE cart!! So if someone else requested the staff to bring up their stuff, you will have to wait your turn. The rooms have a small fridge and have a terrace for you to sit in and enjoy the views. The breakfast they offer was amazing! The only bad part is that it gets very crowded in the mornings. My only issue with this hotel is that they charge you a daily parking & resort fee that they take from your "deposit" that comes to about $500 a week. So add that cost to your total.

It’s a great option for a family vacations as there are different entertainment options to have fun. Hotel condition can improve. For example, room carpet was stained, furniture appearance/broken, bathroom lightning rusted. For breakfast had the same offering for 3 consecutive mornings.

Ok there is a level of this you take with a grain of salt. First in its hayday I'm sure this was a 5 star resort. Its dated from crack flooring and chip paint interiorly and exteriorly. Not to mention our room infested with sugar ants (I had room service and mgt up to the room twice. Outside of that the breakest was the same but good every morning. The staff over all was very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay. I would just temper your expectations when booking.

My first time visit in Puerto Rico. An excellent staff work towels was delivered on time when requested.
