This property is in a beautiful spot with gorgeous vistas all around. Everything was very clean, the people were friendly, and the restaurant was delicious. We were not happy with our room however. It was extremely tiny and had some unusual characteristics. The ceiling over half the bed was very low and my husband twice bumped his head while getting out of bed. The bathroom was split in two and you had to walk through the room to get from the toilet to the shower. The towels were too thin and we were only given one each. Had we been in a larger, more well equipped room, I would have given this hotel a much more raving review.

The hotel was very nice--my room was spacious, comfortable, and nicely appointed. The view over fields and open spaces was especially nice. The restaurant was exceptional--I am so happy I chose half board--the evening dinner was very good! I will come back!

A real gem of a hotel. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are beautifully finished. The staff are all very welcoming and the food is excellent. If you are in the area this is the place to stay. I will certainly be back and next time it will be for longer.

Excellent location for hiking and relaxing if you like isolation. The rooms are well equipped. However, my room did not have a refrigerator. The breakfast selection is good and the service was very courteous.

The hotel is very nicely located, also ideally located on the Rheinsteig. The room was great, even though it was facing the car park. It was very quiet at night. The booked menu in the evening was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the wines are all very good. The staff were friendly and dealt with a hiker traveling alone in a professional manner. The breakfast buffet was stocked with the usual sausage/cheese/eggs, and the jam was notable for its quality. Only the selection of black tea, cereals and maybe even wholemeal bread was very limited... and breakfast from 8 a.m. is too late for many hikers! That could be better in a hotel of this category.

Beautifully located and newly renovated hotel right on the Rheinsteig. Very nice, modern restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. Very nice little sauna. It's nice that every guest automatically gets a sauna bag. Breakfast is a bit lacking. I would say it's standard. I don't think it needs to be a huge buffet for this hotel category, but a few small, fine, perhaps homemade, regional things would be nice. The breakfast room next to the buffet room is unfortunately not as nice as the restaurant room. Unfortunately, the massage was really bad (cold room, terribly loud because of the adjacent kitchen, no music/nice light/scent). I really didn't expect that and you can really skip it! To end on a positive note: very friendly staff and everything was very clean and well-kept.

During the week we were able to hike (Rheinsteig) and feast, and thanks to the arrangement we had transport and a delicious 3-course meal included every evening. The room matched the pictures on the internet, we had one in the restored wing. The food was amazing and the staff had no problems processing special requests (even if it got funny "duck without duck"). Thanks to Corona, there was of course more distance than usual and the sauna could only be used to a limited extent, which is why we were happy to postpone dinner and then had space in the sauna. But there were no problems with that either and the service was friendly. So it's worth it not just for one night (as a stopover on the Rheinsteig), but also for longer stays.
