Monbellis ★★★
Toucanet Lodge ★★
"Everything about El Toucanet Lodge was wonderful. The service; Michael was an amazing host and catered to our every necessity, and the chef was truly amazing. The room we had-junior suite was very cozy with a fireplace and wonderful views. My husband is a birder and the vast amount of birds he saw left him genuinely impressed. I highly recomend this corner of paradise."
Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge ★★★
"The room was clean, the breakfast was good and the service was good. The hotel's own protection area is very large, and the forest trail is very good. There are many gardens and nearby road birds near the hotel reception desk, and the environment is good. The only downside is that the room is far from the hotel reception desk and the restaurant, and it is not convenient for bad legs."
Hotel de Montaña Suria ★★★
"Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I had high expectations when booking a stay at Hotel de Montaña Suria, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. I booked and PAID for a specific room, yet upon arrival, I was deceived and placed in a CPL accommodation instead—a tiny, uncomfortable, and completely inadequate space that was NOT what I had reserved. This was unprofessional, misleading, and borderline nasty. The room was cramped, uncomfortable, and far below the standard of what I had paid for. Instead of a peaceful stay, I endured a terrible night, unable to rest properly due to the discomfort and frustration of being cheated. Management showed zero accountability for this bait-and-switch tactic, which is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. If you value honesty, quality service, and getting what you pay for, stay far away from this place. I do NOT recommend this hotel and strongly advise others to avoid it at all costs. Deception and poor service should never be tolerated, especially when guests are paying for a specific experience. Absolutely disgraceful."
Paraíso Quetzal Lodge ★★★
"We stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights. It is a birder paradise with many trails and beautiful gardens where many special species live. The food was well priced and delicious and the reataurant has a nice lounge area where you can chat to other travellers. The bungalow was lovely though do bring warm clothing! We did the quetzal tour at 5.30am. The guides worked very hard and got us some excellent sights and made sure we had souvenir photos"
Cedrela Eco-Lodge & Restaurante ★★
"It is not worth traveling from San José to visit Copey to stay at Cedrela, the restaurant I think there are better in San José. The service actually leaves a lot to be desired. We do not recommend it. There are better places in Copey, the area if too beautiful."
Trogon Lodge ★★★
"Great food, views and staff. 100% recommend. Comfortable room with double beds."
Savegre Hotel Natural Reserve & Spa ★★★
"Superb hotel ideally located in the middle of the San Gerardo de Dota Valley and still managed by the descendants of the pioneers who "discovered" the valley in the 1950s. We chose this hotel for its proximity to Los Quetzales National Park. Finally, we stayed in the superb San Gerardo de Dota Valley which is home to quetzals all year round thanks to the presence of Guatemalan avocado trees - whose fruits they feed on. The hotel grounds include a garden designed for the many hummingbirds, various hiking trails, some of which are particularly popular with ornithologists, as well as a viewpoint offering a superb panorama of the valley. We went on a quetzal observation outing (among others) with Raul Fernandez Chacon (Whatsapp +***********), grandson of the pioneers who settled in the valley; to be booked directly or through the hotel. Spa equipped with jacuzzis and an impeccable sauna and restaurant."
Curuba Lodge ★★★★
"Fantastic place, don’t hesitate, just book it. You’ll have zero regrets. Great atmosphere, food, trails, flowers, the cabins, all of it. Definitely going back."
