Room smelled like urine upon waking. It was so strong I initially thought it was coming from the mattress we were laying on. Turns out it was coming from the A/C. We didn’t notice it upon arrival as there was a strong air freshener/cologne smell in the room. The tv screen was damaged as if it had been punched at some point. There were stains all over the ceilings. Also, the staff (which all seem to be related) is also very pushy about check out and if you are packing your car at 11:00 they will start harassing you every few mins until you leave.

First time in Dothan and was looking for an inexpensive motel for a couple of days. We ended up staying 2 nights. It was quiet (few guests during the week). The room was not fancy but did the trick. Beds were comfortable, shower worked well. Room was clean. Plenty of parking (right outside the door). Staff answered any and all questions. Did not see any strangers wandering the parking lot. No breakfast due to Covid but there are several options nearby. If back in town would definitely consider staying here again.

Good reserving and check in. Location for me is why I stay there. Been staying for 30? years when it was Holiday Inn. Downhill ever since. This trip 2/6-2/13 was terrible. Has needed repairs for years. Was excited to see carpet replaced with flooring. Now it was so easy to see roaches on the floor. Brought cleaning supplies and bug spray from previous experience last summer. Here's some can live with complaints. No hair dryer, do not disturb sign, room supplies, key never worked, curtains duct taped to wall, no Bible, pad or pens, no light or outlet for desk lamp, no hangers, sluggish toilet, peeling paint and fixtures, never a parking place near room. Good heat/air and hot shower pressure. The things that are unacceptable are rude employees at front desk. Not even trying to accomodate if you need something. Outside is so unsafe. Homeless or bums? coming in front door of lobby, like they're going to the bar, but proceed out the back lobby exit and down to the room corridors asking for this or that should you happen to be coming/going. Never saw security. It's like one of those drug dealing hotels off a tv show from all the cars/people and traffic thru out the night. I've noticed this before, but assumed maybe they had family visiting their room? No! Not with men in the cars and women in and out of rooms. I noticed this trip they have installed a security camera aiming toward those rooms. Also, they are doing some painting, but not enough to make a difference anytime soon. I try to stay in the same room when I book for a week a couple times a year. Last summer, the pool was nasty. rarely open. Couldn't even enjoy sitting on the locked patio. Again, this time they wouldn't open the gate to where family could grill and we could sit by the pool. Last time, the breakfast bags were gone before 9 and for two days they said the oj and water cooler key was not there. Didn't even bother trying this time. i really hate to complain about a business, but this place is not only a health hazard, but an unsafe place to bring yourself or family. I don't know if I should call and report both things or if this is seen and will be handled by corp. and law enforcement. Should you absolutely need to stay here for cost, location, etc. please be aware of the things that might be going on around you. If I ever have to I will call for law presence during the night. Could be what I think looks suspicious might not be anything, but...I hope you decide to stay elsewhere. I've stayed at a few different places there over the years and if you would like my opinion it's Doubletree, nice rooms, food and pool. Hilton garden inn has fabulous suites, comfortable, safe, nice outside seating, bar/food. I would say a not quality and a big no to HoJo (worse than Clarion). Comfort was nice years ago. Hope this helps.

GGuest UserWe were traveling from Nashville to SWFL after a long Thanksgiving - we stopped halfway in Dothan - AL . We were traveling with leftovers so we wanted the full refrigerator- there was a pullout bed for our son and he asked for a blanket - I went out in the hall , as late as it was Nakisha was still cleaning a room - I asked her where to find an extra blanket - she told me the front desk - then came and got me at the elevator she had found one in a closet - she wanted to make the bed came in with everything- With me telling her no - she wouldn’t hear of it - she came in set everything up and I knew she was late on a holiday - I have never had service like that . I went to grab cash to tip and my son or I had no cash - she said “ that is my job , to make sure you and your family have all that you need to be happy , I don’t need anything else “ to know she needed to get home to her family but took all that time to serve my son ! Every staff member was amazing but Nakisha was next level ! I now know where we will always stay on our drive through !
