We used this hotel last year and we were pleased with the stay on our way to France. Unfortunately, this was not the case this time. The hotel seems to have a lot of chav families staying at the moment who are loud and proud. The staff look so miserable and disinterested in the whole process, that I find it hard to understand how a hotel can change so quickly. Will use Premier Inn in future if passing through.

We only stayed here to sleep a few hours before getting the boat so didn’t get a chance to look at the whole hotel, but based on what we seen, the decor is very basic and soulless and the hotel located just above a few takeaway shops, not the best first impression. I guess location is perfect if you’re travelling or crossing the channel, and for that purpose it served us well, however the receptionist working nights managed to squeeze in 2 or 3 words and not more, during the check out process which was very disappointing and reflective of this soulless hotel. On the outside it looks modern but the inside is a little dated and not inviting. Next time we are travelling to Dover I will look elsewhere.

Do not recommend this hotel at all. We came to check in late at night with our child and was asked to pay so much extra even though we already had a confirmed booking. At the time of booking we were given a discount by their staff member which the receptionist refused to acknowledge. We had to pay £50 on top of what we had already paid 3 months ago while booking this room. The breakfast was dry and far from fresh. The staff was not helpful in this situation and charged us more than what the room was worth.

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend I had high hopes for this stay, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The "English breakfast" was far from fresh – the croissants were stale and tasted like they’d been sitting out for days. The toilets were unclean and poorly maintained, which was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful throughout the stay. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you're expecting even basic standards of cleanliness and hospitality. charged us extra even though we had a confirmed booking. we had to pay more that £40 on top of what we had already paid when we booked the room three months ago.

the lovely young chap on tuesday evening was so polite went above and beyond to help me and my friend, he really cared about what he was doing and it was clear to see that he didn’t just enjoy his job as he was so friendly and did everything he could to help us.

Hotel is in a good location for accessing the ferry port. It allows dogs for £20 fee. Free parking adjacent. Easy to walk into town or seafront both within 5 minutes. Dogs are allowed in the room but not in the bar or cafe/eating area so beware if you have booked breakfast or evening meal or fancy a quiet drink. Otherwise it’s good for an overnight stop.

Clean and comfortable accommodation, convenient location for town, seafront and castle with a good variety of food outlets close by.
