The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was good. Handy location and good parking but the building itself needs a lot more work done to update it for comfort and to match the price. (the room was too hot for my daughter and myself.) They did offer an alternative but as we are reasonably close to the area we decided to go home. (it had been a long day). Also got a refund without any hassle.

I didn’t sleep well here. The staff were nice but the dinner was average. There was no avocado as stated with the prawns. There were no lentils with the duck leg. It wasn’t their fault that the ceiling fell in in the corridor outside my room but all the carpets looked stained and the mattress was poor, as were the pillows. Rather big foam things that provided for two poor nights sleep. The only upside was that the shower was good and clean.

I booked a balcony room with views over the Mournes as it was our wedding anniversary. On arrival, we sat out on the balcony, taking in the views, but our enjoyment was curtailed by a worker on a Cherrypicker carrying out renovation work to the outside of an adjacent room. Apart from it spoiling the view, the noise was rather irritating 🙄. We went inside but couldn't relax because of the noise. After 15 minutes or so, I contacted reception around 5.20pm and requested another room. The receptionist said she would phone me back. Another 15 minutes elapsed, and we hadn't received a reply, so I rang again. This time, no one answered. We waited another 5 mins or so, and a receptionist rang back. She said she had spoken to the construction worker and said he would only be another half an hour, and would that be OK ? I said my husband had driven a long way and needed to nap and so it wouldn't be OK. The receptionist said she would make further enquiries about an alternative room and come up to our room. About 10 mins later, a lady arrived and showed us another room, which we accepted. She apologised and said we shouldn't have been put in that room. The new room was identical but further away from the noise, and relaxation was possible. The bathroom in the new room hadn't been cleaned properly as there was makeup around the door handle on the inside of the door. I didn't complain about this as I was already deflated. The food was good and the staff in the dining area were very efficient and polite. The kitchen staff put a happy anniversary message on our dessert plates, which was a nice touch. Overall, we are disappointed with the Burrendale Hotel and will not return or advise family or friends to visit.

Stayed at the Burrendale for two nights on a work conference with 15 colleagues. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and included hairdryer, iron and tea tray, everything one needs for a stay. The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent on both days as was the service. Overall it was a great stay.

We had a lovely stay in the Burrendale Hotel to celebrate my Granny's 90th birthday. The family rooms are a good size and the children enjoyed the bunk beds. The only complaint about the rooms was that they got very warm at night. We all enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and made a fuss of my granny. We enjoyed the pool during our stay and would definitely return again.

We had a family meal today, in the Castle Suite, in memory of our mum. The food was served on time and tasted delicious, everybody loved it. The staff were so helpful and friendly. A special thanks to Bronagh who went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Thank you.

Excellent accommodation and beautiful views of the Mournes. Great food and friendly staff. Entertainment in The Cottage Bar was great fun, always good to see people up dancing. Didn't get to use the Country Club but great to have the facilities available.
