Buchanan Arms Hotel & Leisure, Sure Hotel Collection ★★★
"Very nice hotel for the money. Enjoyed the food in the restaurant too. Bedroom was spacious, and the bed was super comfy."
The Drymen Inn ★★★
"This was our final stop after a tour around the Scottish highlands and Outer Hebrides. It was the most expensive stay so our expectations were high. On arrival, the bar was busy but we soon got our room keys and made our way to the Conic Suite. Initial impression was good. The room was clean and spacious. However, the blind on the velux window was broken and took time and patience to wedge it shut. The television did not work. The staff, although friendly and courteous were too busy to help. We managed the blind and retuned the television ourselves (although we could only get BBC programmes). Dinner in the bar was very nice and breakfast was good, but nothing exceptional. After our first night's stay, the room was not refreshed. Having the bed remade is not an issue, but we did not expect having to ask for more teabags, milk and, embarrassingly, toilet paper. Clean mugs would have been appreciated. For the pricetag, we would have expected toiletries other than a dispenser of generic soap in the shower. All in all, an expensive and disappointing stay. 2 stars given instead of 1 because the bed was comfortable, the staff were pleasant (although busy) and the location is good. Could do better!"
Foxglove Cottages ★★★
The Clachan Inn ★★★
"Just what we needed after our first day on the WHW. Definitely book. They turned away several people while we were eating. Good range of classic pub food and pizzas."
Glenlaird ★★★★
"Very nice and clean room. Breakfast is great. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. There is spacious common area which you can sit and relax, or to do some work. It is at a very quiet location. Will be best if you have a car."
Kip in the Kirk ★★
"First stopover on my West Highland Way walk at Hillview Guest House, owned and run by Frances who has Kip in the Kirk. Invited for fresh scones and a cuppa on the afternoon of my arrival - what a lovely gesture by Frances. Lovely room with en-suite facilities right in the village so very handy for restaurants, bars, topping up supplies . Great breakfast at Kip in the Kirk before I started next morning"
Kilmaronock Manse B&B ★★★★
"Had a wonder visit to Kilmaronock Manse. The owners were lovely, warm people. The room was so comfortable. The shortbread cookies in the room were fantastic. Breakfast was wonderful. We also loved connecting with other guests over breakfast. Would come back in a heartbeat."
